This is their marketing number and is used primarily to tell you about other services they offer that they think you might be interested in.  It may also be spoofed by scammers looking to get your information to engage in identity theft.  In either case you can most likely safely ignore calls although if you called inquiring about their services, you might get a call back from this number.  I do have an account with them and did answer calls from them several years ago and it was always to inquire if I was interested in things like a home equity loan, credit card, investment services, etc. Never anything critical about my account.

Received a call at 6:23 pm on 11/20/2015. The caller ID says TOLL FREE CALLE 18779243604 and a woman
said hername was Annette Galissa with Wells Fargo of Salem Oregon and gave her call back number as 8779243604 Ext 133 and asked to speak to a member of the family by name. When I asked what it was about, she said to offer him
products and services. I told her we are not interested in products and services nor did we appreciate the call and she
could send it in the mail.

It is WF peddling "stuff" like insurance, investment etc.

multiple calls over past few days, I answered today and they stated it is wells fargo on a recorded line with a special offer; but they dont even have my name correct as it appears on my mortgage so I call scam....

I was on another call when this number came in left no message this is not the first time they've called I also like the people before me do not have any business with Wells Fargo whatsoever !!!!if in fact it is Wells Fargo

This is a number used for information verification.  Wells Fargo does use this number along with other participants in the data "network." The number is connected to other information verification or information solicitation entities.

I applied for a business account and received a call back from this number shortly after (to my new unpublished number that no one else had yet). It's legit.

I work at wellsfargo and this number is actually the sales department. The reason you would get a call would be one of three reasons: you applied for a loan or line of credit/cc and we are following up with you, you requested we call you back, or it's a small "outbound" team that is following up with you regarding letters that were sent out regarding mortgage or credit card offers

No Business with Wells Farto

I think it is Wells Fargo. He asked if I receive a credit card offers in the mail  (I have )then he tried to get me to reply to the offer telling me the card is cash back, lower interest. Told him I was not interested.

Received a message asking me to return the call regarding a credit card offer!  If this is Wells Fargo, they are unprofessional and definitely need to rethink the way they do business!  I blocked this number, and hopefully, I will not be bothered again!

The number actually belongs to Wells Fargo, BUT their CID should list Wells Fargo as the name.  If it lists Toll Free Caller, Unavailable, Etc. it is someone spoofing their number.  If you can get them to talk to you have them get someone from the local branch to call you and the CID will list the local number and name.
I have a car loan with Wells Fargo, but would never talk about the particulars over the phone, I would drive down to the local branch and see my loan officer.

This is a scam. I have a checking and savings account with Wells Fargo and absolutely no loan with them.

This number calls and never leaves a message. I consider it spam or a nuisance call. Maybe it's a telemarketer. Maybe it's a scam or hacked number. I'll never know or care. A real business leaves a message and a call back number.

I agree. My phone rang just once, and as I was right by it, answered after the first ring. And they hung up! I have no business of any kind with Wells Fargo. And I wouldn't deal with them anyway, as they are one of the easiest businesses to run scams on. Why do you think Nigerian scammers always want you to use them!

Alternately, if it IS one of Wells Fargo's numbers, it is now possible for scammers to spoof you with the appearance of being a caller from nearly any number they like, via computer software. You might receive a call from "California", that actually originated in the Ukraine now. Or even a call from yourself!!!

And there is a new wrinkle. There are numbers that I have blocked on my home phone, and added to my cell phones reject list, that are now ringing through. I've checked, and they are not even 1 digit off! But ring through anyway. I specifically have most "8--" numbers blocked, including 877, yet it rang through regardless.

Well..., actually it is a "load", and not about a loan. lol
