Second time someone with an accent has called to ask about moving our business.  I told her we moved to years ago and hung up.

Soft spoken woman with an accent called saying she was from "State of Nevada Department of Business Development." She asked if we had found a new location yet to move into. I said, "we aren't looking to move." She said, "So, you've already found a new location to move into?" I said, "No, we aren't looking to move." And she hung yup without another word. I can't for the life of me figure out what this scam could be or what they could get out of it. They have our office number - if they googled that number they'd find all three of our office location address listed on our company website. So, I don't think it's about getting the address. My mind is boggled.

They have called three times, the first 2 times claiming to be from the Denver Business Development Chamber, and most recently claiming to be from the Denver Chamber of Commerce.

Always asking the same things as you see above (did we move? are we still looking to move?). The guy mentioned that he's only conducting a survey. I told him that I'm not the decision maker in the company and that we have no concrete plans to do anything at this point. He kept repeating his questions and I ended up telling him multiple times that he needs to remove our number from his list. He hung up on me.

A lady named Emmanuel calls almost daily asking if we're moving. I tell her all the time that I don't have any information to give her. She says she's from the Kingwood Chamber of Commerce... however, I've spoken to the President and CEO of the Kingwood Chamber of Commerce personally, and he says this is fake. I've told this woman to stop calling and she is quite persistent.

This number calls so often that now I do not get angry but instead I play with them.  Yes we are moving.  No maybe we are not moving.  We moved 6 times already this year.  When are we moving - well we are always moving - are you not moving?  We move every month.  We have never moved and are in the same office.  Fun times...

I always just hang up on the mid-sentence, and thus far, they've never called back.

Caller said he was from the Texas Chamber of Commerce. Wanted to know if we found a new office location. He said his name was Jason Smith, but sounded unsure. He had a heavy accent and spoke softly. Still not sure of the reason for his call.

The best I can figure is they want to confirm the address and ownership of businesses that are about to move, then take out a pile of loans and credit cards in the business's name in the days after the move, before any institution's records are updated.

Naw, I'm pretty sure they're just confirming addresses to update contact lists (which can then be bought by other spamming and scamming outfits), they just have a backwards way of doing it. It's nothing so complicated...They aren't clever enough for that. :)

I have received two calls from these fools.  Both times the woman spoke with a foreign accent, Indian perhaps, claimed to be with the Colorado Chamber of Commerce and asked if we were still planning to move.  I told her we were not planning to move.  She asked if we were planning on expanding or changing our space.  I told her no and that the space is leased and she should call the property management company.  So then she starts over and asks if we are planning to move...I told her that i had already answered her question and then she gave me a nervous laugh and tried to continue until I cut her off and told her not to call again and that I was turning her in for falsely representing the state ...before hanging up on her.  I hope she calls back...truly I do...

I've received this phone call weekly for the past few months from the same man (very distinct voice) but he changes his name each time. Asks if we are still looking to find a new location or if we have stopped looking. I've tried telling him to take us off of his call list but he abruptly hangs up on me before I can finish. I'm waiting for him to call back to see if I can have a little fun next time around.

This number keeps calling

Keeps calling, I requested any information to be mailed or to send me an email and they refuse and keep calling. Asked for an address, she put me on hold. She has a foreign accent, did not provide a name.

Called my place of business twice today. Asking if we are moving or if we have already moved. Told first person (call at 2:44 pm EST) we are not moving, told second person (call at 3:50 pm) that I spoke with another representative a hour beforehand and told them no. Asked to be removed from their call list too, but they hung up on me.
