I have the same problem. They called me 9 times today but when I answer they hang up. It is getting ridiculous

We've been getting multiple calls a day from this number for a couple of weeks and never answer it. I've read through this entire thread going back a couple of years and it looks to me like 1-888-111-2222 is just a "dummy" number used by a telemarketer that does calls for multiple clients - or maybe it's pre-programmed into a particular robocall system that telemarketers use. Whatever, based on the evidence posted here it's most likely not a number that's actually registered to anybody. I am going to ask my government's telecommunications regulator if telemarketers are permitted to hide behind a generic 888 numbers and what, if anything, they are doing about it.

I began receiving anywhere from 3-8 phone calls a day from 888-111-2222.  at first the caller would just hang up when either myself or my answering machine would pick up.  Then one day the caller got belligerent.  That's when I called my local FBI agent and report the incidents.  The agent that answered the telephone assured me he would investigate the incident.
Since that time, whenever possible, I have been telling family and friends the license plate number of every vehicle that comes by my home [if the vehicle is one that normally does not belong on my street.  I have also notified my neigbors to be on the look out for unfamiliar vehicles on our street.   THAT'S RIGHT, I'M A TELLER!!!!!

I've been getting the same type of calls.  Try calling your local FBI and report the calls.  They promised me they would investigate.
Maybe if enough of us do this, the "Creep" will get caught!!

Receive calls from this 888-111-2222 number at least 4-6 times each day.  Out of anger I finally answered a call only to just hear voices in the background and no one speaks.  When I try to call the number it does not go through my carrier (Road Runner.)  What ever happened to the "Do Not Call List?"

This number is calling sometimes 3 or 4 times a day for the past 2 weeks.  I do not have the message machine turned on - due to all the telemarketers; though I have picked up the phone & say nothing, I can  hear them/robo call hang up after 30/40 seconds or so.   Have  *67 the number and get the message that the number 888-111-2222 is disconnected or no longer in service.  Now how can they be calling if this is true?  How to stop this annoyance.

Have been receiving calls from this number 3 or 4 times a day for 3 weeks - I answered once they asked for me and I said I wasn't home and asked if I could take a message they hung up.  I have not answered again and hope that eventually they will lose interest!

Anyone knows how to block this number and report it so an official channel will go after them? Seems like so many people are complaining about this number but nothing has been done about it.

I have been able to confirm that the company is in fact Summer Bay Resorts in Florida - there real # is 1-866-416-1261

They use the 1-888-111-2222 as a phone dialer to get you on the line to sell you vacation packages.

they don't like to give out their real number but now you all have it. I have reported it on the Do Not call list but doubt that will do any good.

I have called and spoken to the manager who has assured me that I have been removed off their list but we will see about that.

Called my cell phone. Silence. I have stored it in my phone under HANG UP NUMBERS. I have 10 now.  When I see HANG UP NUMBERS, I ignore it. Very frustrating and annoying.

Call several times a day. Can't call it back mine have a + sign on the number when it calls? weird.

Telemarketing

This number calls at all times of the day.  No one answers when I answer and the number is not valid when I try to call back.  I reported this number to the Do Not Call List.
