This phone number was attached to a FAKE Amazon order for a 900.00 laptop being delivered to another person in another state. I called Amazon, found out it was a bogus order, and was told to delete the email. I have not called the number, but feel they would probably try to get account information from me. It was identified as the Amazon Customer Service number to call regarding the order.

It seems that they are now using this ploy to gain access to your computer.  Most likely because the fake Microsoft/Apple scams have been so highly publicized that they are not finding enough victims

Scammers  will try to trick you into resetting your password if they know the login email address used on the account. They will say they are sending a "verification" code to your phone or email to verify it is you, but it is actually a password reset code which will give them complete access to your account. They do this to gain access to the credit card you have on file, make purchases, change your info and keep you locked out of your account so they can use it for other fraudulent activities, such as laundering money.

This is just a variation on the scam that claims to be Amazon. Notice the email address deliveryamzship@gmail.com, or something similiar. Definately NOTHING to do with Amazon. Any time this happens go online and CHECK your account. Don't call the scammers, unless you want to prank them (like I will do several times this morning).
