Received threatening phone calls two days in a row from Johnny Johnson stating that I will be served in the next three to five business days at home or place of employment.  Also stated that it was important for me to have two forms of identification to sign for the documentation.  If someone is being served they do not ask for identification much less 2 forms of ID to serve you papers.  this has got to be a load of crap.

They called me and said I was going to be served also, just like the comment above, they left another number and a name to contact so that I might be able to resolve the court serving . I called the number 888-627-1684 and a voicemail or a person named Raymond came on, I left a vm, he called me back and tried saying i was being sued for a credit card debt from 2000. he had my old last name and another old address and the last 4 of my ss#.  them he said the debt could be reduced 50% per the attorney working the said lawsuit. if i pay now over the phone.  i totally almost fell for it.

If it is from year 2000 and no recent activity on the account, it is long past the point where they can legally sue.  However, illegally operating debt collectors bank on you not knowing that. Report them to your State Attorney General, the FTC and Consumer Finance Protection Bureau.

Received the same call today. This certainly does sound like a scam, threatening, warning of being served makes no sense, neither does the 2 forms of ID.

Same as above. I called back the 888-200-5976.  A woman answered and stated that they dont “serve papers “. The whole thing is strange. She asked for my name to “verify” and I declined. Hmmmmm. Dont fall for these scams, it’s disgusting.

From what I can determine this outfit was shutdown by the Feds.  However I would be willing to bet that one of the scumbag employees decided to open a new criminal enterprise up using that name.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file complaints with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

File a complaint at the NY State AG's Office here:  http://www.ag.ny.gov/

Scam! REAL process servers don't call in advance and you can't be "legally notified" over the phone. If you haven't already, read the very informative post by BigA right above yours.

I called 1-888-200-5976 and some guy claimed he was an attorney and would help me out of "my issue " for 200.00 payment over the phone.  I laughed and hung up. COMPLETE SCAM.

Same thing as above.  Two forms of ID to a process server made me chuckle. They just ask if Joe blow lives here and hands over documents

Right! Process servers don't have to identify the person who they give paperwork to. They just have to be reasonably sure that they're at the correct address. I have accepted legal papers for my wife a couple of times.
