SCAM THIS PERSON LEFT A MESSAGE AND TOLD ME TO CALL THIS NUMBER

Got a call from an Ohio code number, said they are "trying to reach me with time sensitive savings, call back the 1 888 as soon as possible. Nope, not calling you.

I got 3 calls in one day from 614-283-1000. On the second call a woman left a message saying she was with Discover Card and wanted me to call back at 888-200-8158. She sounded professional aside from the background noise. I never answered the calls nor did I call back. I did a little searching and found this is likely some kind of fraud. I contacted Discover and they checked my account and said they had not contacted me.

I got a call asking me to call this 888-200-8158 back. They didn't say it was in regards to anything. I did this search and it seems like a scam so I didn't call back.

A nice sounding woman left a VM:
"Hello this message is for [name] my name is Cathlene. Uh, please call me, uh, toll free at 1-888-200-8158 as soon as possible. Our hours of operation..."
If it's so important, why wouldn't Cathlene tell me at least who she works for. I feel that if it's legit and a fraud issue, wouldn't she say shes with Discover Fraud??? Nope, not calling back. I'll call the number on the back of the card instead.

Got a call from the same female name, same script, with a recordong "tone" sounding and background noise like other operators. Nope and nope - not gonna fall for it!

Got a call from 614-283-1000 and female caller left a VM, "Hi this is Mercedes, please call 888-200-8158 between the hours of 8am to 10pm EST." I googled the number and led me here. I did not call back, sounded like a fraudulent call.

Same thing, got the call twice now.  Decided to look it up.  Message was for a guy named Mr. giles the 2nd and that isn't who I am so I am not calling either.  Only thing that would worry me is someone else using my information and getting a card with my SSAN.  So, I'll call discover whom I do have and work on this.  Thanks for all the posts to help confirm all our suspicions.  888-200-8158.  Message from Cathlene, just like what others have experienced.  WEIRD!

Just got the same message from juseph to call 888-200-8158 and when I called back it was a woman saying thank you for calling discover and asking for my card number. It sounded funny and I did not do it she asked again very forthright and again I told her this does not sound right. Hung up and checked with discover and they had not contacted me.

Got a call from the same # lady left a voicemail. Sounded suspicious. Called # back and had to hold for account managers so hung up. Just send me something in the mail. The message never said what company they were calling from. Possibly Discover.

I just received a call on my cellphone from 614-283-1000. I let it go to voicemail.  The voicemail message was from a nice lady Kiera, who asked me to call back as soon as possible as it related to my Discover card.  She asked me to call 1-888-200-8158.  I did not call back as I don't have a Discover card and never owned one.

2/16/16 [drp]  received similar calls; no caller i.d.; left one message with the same instructions.  called discover 8003472683 and confirmed it is from an affiliate representing discover; no fraud alert etc.  had a pleasant c.s.r. who helped determine the reason for the call.

Got a call from them. Saying it was a private business matter. Call 888-200-8158. The number was 614-283-1000. When I called them back they say they are from Discover. Called the number on the back of card. Said everything was ok and that they never called me. Called the number back. They needed my card number to look up my information. Of course never gave it to them. Told her that I already talked to Discover about my account and nothing. There was a loud ding in the background. Asked the girl about it. She told me it was their system recording the conversation for quality purposes. NEVER encountered anything like that. Automatic BLOCK from phone. BEWARE!! Fishy scam.

I actually have a discover account.  I sent them an email through their secure network.  They have called my house every day 2x a day for 2 weeks now.  Then they called my cell which I never called from or gave or paid my bill.  Left the same message.  Blocked!  Going to delete my phone number online so they cannot contact me anymore.   I can deal through email. If they are evasive through email, I will call when I am ready, I do not need a nanny! This is harassment!
