Called my phone saying that there was a complaint brought to there office about me and gonna take legal actions if I don't respond had my married and maiden name saying it's time sensitive but never said what it was about

Received a call using my correct last name, but wrong first name.  Identified herself as "Kathy Walker" of an office that was not understandable - mumbled. Said she was calling to discuss a matter that had been sent out to her office regarding a legal filing & lawsuit & that I needed to contact the issuing agent directly & listed this phone number.

Yes called and said the same thing about being sued and papers were sent but not yet about a guaranty bank that went out of business

Talking.about a lawsuit  I called both court systems in jasper and in Putnam county to see if it is true about a guaranty  bank

I received a call last week from a private number saying that they had been trying reach me for the third time to serve legal papers. They gave me a phone number and a case number but when i asked what it was regarding they stated they couldn't tell me. Called the number of 8882009437 and spoke with someone I think his name was Clif. He stated I owed Best Bank who was bought out by Guaranty Bank the sum of 2500.00 from 2011. He stated that legal proceedings would be started and I would have to pay that amount plus court fees and that they could possibly garnish my wages and put a lien on my name. He  then put me on  hold to contact the lawyer of the case to see if he would be willing to take a settlement. He then came back and stated I could accept a settlement of 491.00 but it would have to be agreed on and paid asap. I advised him that I had never received anything by mail and that I would like a copy of the paperwork to validate the debt is real. He stated the lawyer stated the paperwork was already submitted to court and they couldn't mail or email me anything. I then got off the phone. Because I feel as if that if I really owed a debt I should be able to see the corresponding paperwork . I'm not going to just pay some stranger by phone just because he says I owe them. Needless to say this week he left me a message again.

This is the fake process server scam. As you learned, they'll claim they've been trying to serve you over a debt they won't validate but hey! If you pay them now, it'll all go away.
You were wise to hang up on them and to not pay them just because they told you to. A legitimate debt collector will follow the law by mailing you proof of the debt and that they are legally entitled to collect said debt.

I just received a call from a woman stating She worked for R & R Group when she was giving me her contact info to reach her. She said I was being served some legal documents to appear in court for Gauranty Bank for over $2,000 unless I agree to pay a fee of $643 . She had my social security, my updated address and everything. I’m a bit shaken up on what’s going on.

An unknown caller asked for my sister. The woman said my sister should’ve received papers from the county she lives in, something about legal action and that she’s being summoned. The woman on the phone provided me their call back number, a case number and a name of whom to reach (Dina Roberts). I noted the information down as the woman sounded legit. I texted my sister and she said she received a similar call months prior and that this is a SCAM.

Same. I just got the same exact call. The number was an unknown caller but the number listed came from Riverside, California  The number she left was  888-200-9437. Do not call them back at all. Total scam. Do not let them scare you. The caller lso sounded like she was from India.

Got this message on my VM today from these crooks. Tried to call them back with my number blocked (*67) and suddenly they cannot accept calls. I've been down this road before. This is a scam. If you owe a debt, they should be mailing that to you beforehand.

Well i got a private call message left by a lady, they called my entire family.  Private, then i call the lady answer says,  ...you got a file number me no,  we can look up you by number. She transfer me to a guy, he says you got a file number i says no he looks up via number.  He comes back ask is this says my first and last name. I says yes,  he ask me to verify my last 4 digits of my soc. I said no i don't know you,  i'm not giving you no info.   He says, well i will see you in court and you will get the paperwork i said ok and hung up ......

Private number with voicemail from person identifying herself as Cheryl Miller regarding our adult son. Said to call 18882009437.  and reference a case number. Also called my husband's cell number with same comment about potential legal filing & lawsuit. She told him each time he had to write down this phone number 18882009437. When he hung up on her, she called back and told him she'd stop calling if he would just write down the phone number. She called a total of 4 times.

Same call numerous times but no messages.  Finally answered and  same thing ~ call a number & gave case # , can't tell me who or what ! Told the guy(American) not to call again but new message on my phone. Knew my address etc.said they tried to deliver legal papers to me & no on home ! Lie we are retired and my husband or I are always there.  Plus we live on a military post and they would have to sign in at gate ~ never happened! SCAM SCAM !
