This number is a fraudulent debt collecting agency. They are renowned for using coercive tactics including: threats of jail time, false court dates, threats that someone is one the way to your house to serve you a court summons, abusive language and more.
When they called me they used an unknown number, but this is the number they provided for a call back: 1-888-203-2907
When I called them I spoke with a "Mr. Vernan" who informed me that marshals and or court processors were on the way to my house to serve me papers for a court date where I would be charged for "Theft of services and Intent to defraud" due to a past debt. He pretended that the company was acting on behalf of the original creditor. He informed me that if I payed $297.00 the criminal charges would be dropped, so long as I payed within the next 24 to 72 hours before the marshal or processor arrived.
He then had me speak with a fake attorney named, Dean Garrett, to provide me with further details on the case.
The next day a William Hamilton called and left a message claiming to be with the Liaison's office. He informed me that he was looking for me and would be on the way to my house within 24 hours unless I called 1-888-203-2907 and resolved the outstanding debt.
In my state Sheriffs handle warrants and serving of court documents. Upon calling my county courthouse and the Sheriff's office I learned they had no cases in my name.
When I called the original creditor I was informed that this is a particularly common scam that they get a lot of around the holiday season.
Do not pay them anything. What they are doing is illegal.

I am currently pursuing legal action against Check and Credit Reporting. As penalty for their illegal actions they may be required to pay me up to $1,000 as well as court and attorney fees.

Be careful! They are very convincing, but what they are doing is very illegal.

My Original Loan she says was for 350 now they are charging me 3000 for court fees ..
all this  can go away for 504 dollars ..yeah right...
I was petrified my husband told me to look them up and calm down..
I don't have any money right now ...
especially to pay for something I don't even remember having...
Its good to hear I am not the only one ...
After researching it sounds like its illegal what she did ..
and very wrong in my personal opinion..

WoWWWWW!!!! I can't believe I actually just fell for this scam....gave out my bank info to debit $ but thank god I read these posts and was able to close my bank card out before they got any money....it was the same exact thing, same name Amy Scott and all...hope this info helps protect others from this scam

Same thing just happen to me I freaked out and as well called my husband and he said looked them up and I see all these other notes posted I'm glad I'm not the onlyone who  also freaked out cause I didn't know what to to do and for them to say you need to sign some papers if not we will send someone to your office or work place I'm no criminal for someone to say we are sending someone out right now and if we don't find you then we will find you at work treats like these are not nice it stresses you out why can't they just say you have an unpaid bill from so on and u can pay it or go on line and pay why the treats well I'm just glad its not true about the cops going out to ur home or work I'm at ease now.

just got a call from this number.  they threatined me to. they call me again i wiil sue the he** ou of them.

I got a voicemail at work today looking for my Husband saying some suspicious activity came from his checking account. (I handle the family money, so I know what's going on).  Jonathan Cesar was this guy's name and gave me a reference number.  I wasn't about to call him back without researching first.  Based on this site, I'm guessing it's that debt from 6 years back.  Thanks for posting folks- it eased my mind! Remember they cannot harrass you at work. If you tell them to stop calling, they have to!

I had a call today with the same story as the rest of you. I am livid my SS# has been compromised!!!! I i Would love to press charges!!!! Please let me know if any of you know how to get the SCUM sucker in prison!!! This would be a federal offense!!!!

Just got the same type of call..man said he had a summons to serve and would be out in 24 to 72 hours.  gave me the 888 203 8907 number to call as a courtesy before he came out...I panicked, started looking out window and doing computer research,  Glad I found this information  and postings.  Now my heart can stop pounding. The name Amy Scott sounds familiar, I believe that person has called my number before.This is BS they have no right to threaten people like this.

I just got a call on my new cell phone that said Unknown Caller. These types of calls should display as BS because that's what they usually are. Seeing this and knowing I hadn't given out my number to anyone, I didn't answer. There was a recorded message from some guy saying general things such as the Liason's Office, BS. Then he reads out a fake case number, which I have no such issues, with the last four digits resembling my SSN.

Do NOT fall for any of their garbage people. If they want to serve papers to you at home or work, there is no need for a call. Think about it, people get served all the time whether they are dodging it or not by SHERIFF'S. Don't even talk to them. While they try to act as if they are legitimate, they are complete and total scammers.

I just received a call from this kid who could barely speak from "CITY SERVE"... who then gave me this 888-203-2907 number along w/ a case number. he told me to contact this number  as there were some legal actions against me.

upon calling the number I spoke to a woman who started talking to me about whow I was going to be served and taken to court on behalf of a cash/check money loan company. she stated that I was being sued for $3900 and would also have FRAUD charges!!!!!! I am pregnant and super beyond panicking!!!!

I got the same call but didn't pick up. They left a very vague msg that tipped me off to the fact that this is a scam. The fake case number included the last 4 digits of my ssn too! They said they were sending someone to my home or place of employment to have me sign some papers. It amazes me the things that people do to make a buck these days and in the process cause people anxiety and financial harm. If they were honestly process servers, they would just serve and not send fake warnings through calls to people. That in itself equals a fake.

I received this call today from an unknown number with this 888 number to call AMY SCOTT. completely panicked until doing research.

I received a call pertaining to two alleged "complaints" against my social security number. No mention of the nature of the debt or who the original creditor was. The man (or possibly an automated message) stated an "approximate" birthday and age for me. This did not sound remotely  familiar to me. The representative claims to have previously attempted to contact me, but this was not the case. He referred to my maiden name which also caused me to be suspicious. I was given a docket number and telephone number, and I reluctantly returned the call. I left a vague response message with only the docket number and the telephone number they used to contact me. This was extremely distressing as the caller threatened to serve a summons to my home and my place of employment. However, my local sheriff's office has no pending judgment or knowledge of these "complaints" on file for me. I will post any follow up information if or when I receive a return call. PLEASE BE ON ALERT!!! DO NOT PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION OF ANY KIND!!!

They are currently doing the same thing to me. I also got a lawyer.
