- Anonymous| 1 reply"Anonymous" on caller ID called my office, my cell and my father's home stating they have attempted to serve a summons to appear in court to my home (told me my home address). They told me to call 888-212-6268 and gave me a case number. So I called the number and told the guy the case number and he asked my name...I said, well who are you calling for? He didn't like that and said that's not how it works ma'am, click! So I believe if this was legit, a summons would have been served to me at my home, I am home every evening just after 4:00 pm and legally they are supposed to make 3 attempts to serve a summons at different times of the day and any idiot knows most people work during the day and are home in the afternoon/evenings. Anybody else getting calls like this??

- Brandy GamberThey have been harassing me everyday for 2 weeks from a restricted number stating they are trying to deliver summons papers to my address and I have 24 hours to reply before they move forward with my case. The only time i answered a woman who went by sarah Marshall got very short with me when I questioned who she was trying to reach. She wanted me to "verify" my social security number so I promptly hung up the phone. BEWARE!

- AlizaA Nicole Davis called and left a message on a Friday to call her client @ 888-212-6268 to avoid further legal action. She then proceeded to call my husband 15 times, my mother, and two of my brother in laws. She then called back the next Monday saying I had 24 hours to call them or they would go further with legal action.she again continued to call my husband 15 times. She only said to my family members that she was trying to deliver documents and for them to give me a message to call the number and make sure I had the case number. However she never tried to clarify my address to send these said documents. The phone calls came at the same time too, my phone, my husbands and brother in Laws phones all rang at the same time with only an “Unknown” number. Sounds like scammers to me!

- Jade replies to JoshuaThey are a fraudulent and fake business. I got a bad experience with them.
- Jade replies to AmyA fraudulent and fake business. Report them to the authorities.
- Amy replies to Joshua| 1 replyThey are fraudulent. Be careful. They buy old debts that should not be collected any more and they threaten the public. A lot of people are victimized by these criminals. Call the police on them. Report them to the the office of the attorney General in your state.
- BigA replies to AmyThe Police will not get involved and calling them is a waste of their time and your taxpayer dollars.
It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified. If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file complaints with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

The caller said she was Nicole Davis from premiere legal support and she had court papers to serve me.my husband and my self are being sued. I asked her for what and she said it's a sealed package. Here is the file number and a phone number to call. I called 8882126268 the number she gave me a different lady answered. She said Shapiro and associates. She took the file number and gave me all kind of threats. My husband and my self are being sued. Basically my life will be ruined unless I pay on the spot $580. She doesn't accept checks or American express. After I made a payment on the phone with my credit card. I realized they were fraudulent and a fake business. I stopped the card started a dispute. I called again to ask for their licence and the same lady who was acting like a judge earlier. She replied she didn't know anything and I should talk to the big guys. She gave me a phone number and the name platinum holdings. I asked for her name and she hesitate to answer. After 5 to 6 seconds, she said Serine. I asked her Serine what and she said Miller. I think she gave me a fake name. I called the platinum holdings at 855 895 9005. I got an answer from a guy he told me he will email me a balance of zero with a delinquent credit card. I don't have unpaid debt. The email from th fake business Shapiro and associates and platinum holdings is exactly the same. The address is 1851 E 1st street Santa Ana CA. They don't have a # for their office. FAKE business.none of them is at this address.
