888-214-2835

Similar to complaints about 888-214-8522. Some guy named Nicholas Porter left VM saying they were unable to have certified mail delivered.  Gave me a case number, 888-214-2835 as the number to call back. Had my and my ex’s names correct (easy to find in public records) and said they would proceed without her participation. Nice little threat at the end:  don’t underestimate the importance of retuning this call

Said they were the Davis Law Firm, that there was a pending court date, did not say which date.

Introduced himself as Jonathan Cartwright from Davis Law firm. Claims to have a FEDERAL INVESTIGATION on me. I have NO kind of record or anything breaking the law. Has a returned letter to their office. Got the message April 24, 2019. Sounded pretty threatening. it is now May 22, 2019. I have NOT received ANY letters to my current address that I have lived, now for 2.5 years. Barely able to get my messages today. Suspicious.

Well no "law firm" would be doing a "Federal Investigation". That would be under the purview of the DOJ. They would hold a grand jury and if you were to be indicted you would never see it coming. The grand jury would have to vote for a true bill and then the FBI and/or the US Marshall's would be at your door. I doubt that would happen over a "returned letter".
