    Fed Up
Starting calling my company cell phone everyday with same canned message,
I called back and after jumping through the usual hoops on an automated phone system talked to a "live" person. Told them to stop calling my number as I do not (nor will I ever after this crap)have an account with them.

Called today leaving a message saying my exhusband has left our number as a reference and someone please call.  Have had NO contact with my ex in over 9 years.  I call back and explain this to some woman who promptly hangs up on me.  I call back again and explain it to some guy who promptly hangs up on me.  Please, oh PLEASE call me again because someone is getting an ear full!

They called me about once every two days at relatively normal business hours.  I just ignored it for a while and then I called them.  An automated menu wanted my account number or social.  I didn't enter my social.  I just waited and eventually got to a customer service rep.  I said I had gotten many calls but I didn't have an account.  The rep asked me what number was being called.  I told her and she said - we're trying to reach so and so at that number.  I said that's not correct, that's my number.  And she said she'd remove my number.  Pretty easy in my case.  Just call them and be nice.  If you've got nothing to hide, just take a couple minutes and deal with it.

If you're a scumbag avoiding bills, avoid the calls.

This number called but said nothing.  I have no debts outstanding, no auto loans and certainly have or had any affiliation of, with Suntan, Suntander, or Sovereign Banking.  We get an astounding number of calls similar to the behavior of this phone call...what's the scam?  Anybody???

This is a TX firm - their harrassment is illegal by TX laws.

    Santander Consumer USA Inc.
    P.O. Box 562088
    Suite 900
    Dallas, TX 75247

    By TX state Law:
Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, debt collectors may not:

use threats of violence or harm
publish a list of consumers who refuse to pay their debts (except to a credit bureau)
    use obscene or profane language
repeatedly use the telephone to annoy someone

Notice that last bit of info!!

More info can be had (misrep themselves or otherwise) at:

    http://www.rjabankruptcy.com/articles/stopcreditorharassment.html

(not advocating anyone for or against bankruptcy this just happens to have the best info)

If anyone is a TX resident and can get an attorney to take up a class action suit I for one would be happy to sign on.  These vultures need to stop. One day, or a few days late on a payment coming from other states do not give them the right to harrass.  I say that knowing I have no dealings with these people at all...don't know about roomies as it's not my business but the phone is in MY name and *I* pay for it's use.

This is the website for the "company"

Use @santanderconsumerusa.com with contact/support/contact_service/service for the contact email...don't know if any of those will work - they don't offer a direct contact and I couldn't suss out the real email addy from the source code...sadly their programmers at least know their job.

My friend just called crying and said that her car had been repossessed during the night without any notice from Sovereign bank.  She had two payments left and just came out of a bankruptsy holdings.  She was never notified by Sovereign Bank and any changeover to this Santander Bank.  She has been waiting for some updated info as she has been in the bankruptsy holding for almost two years.  She is 65 years old and has worked hard all her life and because this area has been hit hard with the recession her world has crumbled as has mine as we were both in the same field.  She has less than $600.00 owed on this car and they at least could have give her a chance to make good on it. When they came in the middle of the night and took the vehicle they left no ID.  She called the police department and they said it was repossessed and that supposedly they knocked at the door.  I hardly think so in the middle of the night and she said her dog never barked.  I've seen these types on TV where they sneakly roll your car out and down the road to load it up so you can't hear them or protest.

These people won't stop calling. First, you have to wait for someone to come on the line. They are calling for Kathy, who is not and never lived here. I have told them multiple times to stop calling, but THEY KEEP CALLING! Obnoxious!

This effin number has called me a total of six times today. Introduction message states, "Based on the phone number you are calling from, we have identified your account. Please enter the the last four digits of your social security number..."  Excuse me???? This is definitely a scam where this company can steal your identity by cross referencing your SS# and wireless account information!!!!!
