*this call was outgoing, not received. what was received was an invoice stating that my employer owed $425 for maintenance, but the service wasn't stated. I looked on the internet, and saw that this is spam:

We received the same thing, they should be arrested for this kind of soliciting.

We received an invoice from US Telecom too.  Exactly one year ago we received an invoice from them that was clearly a scam so I set them up as a vendor in our system and flagged it SCAM/DO NOT PAY! to prevent future bills from slipping through our system. On the invoice received today they added the following to the fine print at the bottom of their invoice:

"THIS IS NOT A BILL.  THIS IS A SOLICITATION. YOU ARE UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO PAY THE AMOUNT STATED ABOVE UNLESS YOU ACCEPT THIS OFFER.  By remitting payment you are accepting this offer."

So they've covered their butts hoping people won't read that far.  Sadly some people will unknowingly pay it.
