looking for someone who didn't live at that number...rude...

oh yay now these idiots are using a 1-888 instead of the 1-416-733-1413 number

yea these guys keep calling me every hour using either 1 of those 2 numbers. they tell me to hold on the line and then i just get disconnected.

They call at least once a day every day.  I don't answer.

Whenever I see this number now I pick up and hang up without having time to say anything.  Really tired of it. I get the 416 number too!! and do the same.

They used to call from the 416 number, every 10 minutes from 9-5 weekdays. Now they call from this number 3 times a day at random intervals.

The 416 calls would ask for a person's name, then transfer you to a person when you pressed 3.

These calls are just a recording for "an important business message, please stay on the line until we can forward you to a representative" or something along those lines. It hangs up after it repeats that 3 times I think.

its now 4 times a day at ramdom and over a year.

this number calls my cell phone 3+ times daily. I rarely pick up and when I do, it beeps then goes blank. i am REALLY sick of it!

What the hell is going on here?? I got calls all day from 416 for at least a month and now its 888.  Why are they doing this?  I think I'm going to block the number, or get a new phone number.

these people call at all hours of the day sometimes every 15 min they won't stop until you pick up the phone then hang it right back up they seem to stop till the next day then they start up again

.. repeated calls from this number throughout the day... instructed agent on several occasions to REMOVE the called number from their database .. agent is rude!!!

Every day starting at 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 pm every 15 minutes, today is December 30, and they started at 8:00 am and they have called 42 times up to now.  Is there something I could, please let me know.

Yeah, this same number keeps calling me starting at 730. Can we not get a lawyer for this? Even if it is debt collection, which I have never found out WHO or WHAT is it that is calling, they are legally not allowed to call before 8 am. And they keep calling my cell phone.

They have called me 12 times since 7:17 this morning it is now 12:37, I am calling the better business bureau, and then contacting the police

Thank you for the messages provided on this site.  They allowed me to identify the name of the collection agency that is searching for the person that used our home phone number in the past.  Because my family has told them to cease and desist these actions many times over the last calendar year, I informed them today that I am exploring civil legal options against them.  For example, they called here on Saturday (17th) and we informed them the person they are looking for is not at our home. Then they called here on Monday (19th) morning and again this morning.  At both times, they awoke our young baby.  I am very impressed with such vexatious actions toward my family. Not! Hence, I informed them on the phone this morning, and in writing today that I will explore civil action if they do not stop.  In this discourse, I suggested that a class action may be an appropriate method to force them to stop their actions that waste time and cause mental anguish to individuals. I am confident that other individuals are out there that could be named on a class action.

Again, thanks for providing this forum to share important information for individuals that do pay their bills and do not want to have to change their phone number.

CAn you please tell me the name of this collection agency & I need to dend them a letter to cease all communication as well, She is a ignorant woman. I wold say more but

I received a few calls from this number starting shortly after 7 this morning.  Just a couple of minutes ago I called them back and asked them why they were calling me.  They informed me they were looking for a past holder of the number, who, I told them no longer exists at this address.  The representitive then told me that he would remove my phone number from his list and within 24 hours I shouldn't receive anymore calls....if I receive any further calls I'll update.
