I also got a message claiming to be from AT&T, saying my account was eligible for a 50% discount.
As it happens, I do have an account with AT&T! Glad I checked here first! (This bulletin board really does provide a good public service.)

Received a phone call- let it go to voice mail- called them the next day, while looking the number up, i found this site.  I asked if it was a scam and the indian accented fellow on the line became quite upset. I hung up.  They knew how much my billed averaged and offered to cut it in half.  These people suck

Same as all of you!  The number on my caller ID on my cell is from a Honda Dealer, (866-553-5715) and they number they gave me to call is the 888 number.  I don't have ATT.
