this makes no sense - Vlad| 1 replyI received VM on my CELL from "unknown" Caller ID calling me by my FULL NAME claiming they represent "Jennifer Visa", claiming to check on a FRAUDULENT CREDIT LINE APPLICATION, asking me to call 888-232-0776.
When I called - they claimed to have Headquarters located at 100 S. West St., Wilmington, DE 19899, they asked me to tell them my birthdate - which I refused, and could NOT explain how they had my CELL NUMBER and they claimed to do extensive cross-references among several national databases - this was how they figured out the Philadelphia phone# + address given online were not my actual ones.
Also I was told I could find "Jenifer VISA" online... What I have found - a photo depository (www.jenifer.com) and J. Lo.'s shopping site (www.jennifer.com). Yet www.BarclayCardsUS.com was there (These people claim to have been bought by "Barclay Cards").- Caller: "Jenifer VISA/ Barclay Cards"
- Call type: Unwanted
- Chris replies to VladI don't think it was "Jennifer" I think they said "Juniper" which is owned by Barclay Cards.
- jcgthis number is the security department of Juniper Bank (recently acquired by Barclays) -- https://www.juniper.com/app/ccsite/help/helpfaqDynamic.jsp

- IreneI just got a call from this number and was told it he was calling from Joanne to verify some recent activity, and he asked me to verify my name and birthdate. Something made me suspicious and I hung up and looked up the number here. I'm going to call the real company now to see if they're aware of this scam.
- Caller: JoAnn
- Jen| 1 replyI got a sketchy message from "Shiela" at Barclay Bank saying that someone recently opened an account in my name, and that I should call back at 888-232-0776. After reading these posts, I'm going to ignore it - if someone is really stealing my identity, they will call me again.
- Caller: Barclay Bank
- Chris| 1 replyI was skeptical at first but the number actually seems pretty legit to me.
I called back and after I told them that I didn't try to open any lines of credit recently, they told me they would take care of any charges and directed me to contact Transunion at 1-800-916-8800 to take the inquiry off my credit report.
I looked up the Transunion contact number and it checked out as well.
They asked for my SSC#, just pulled up the info by my name which they had from before anyways when they first called and left the message.- Caller: Apple Visa Financing
- Russ replies to JenJust happened to me from Jeanette Reed. Says she was from Barklays Bank and was verifying an account oppened in my son's name but with my ss#. She had lots of info that is readily accessible from the internet anyway. I did not verify any info and told her to canx any accounts.
- BobbyeI was called from this number by the hackers that reported my credit card as stolen. A professional guy by the name of Aaron called me and insisted on me giving him my birthdate..to verify some information. I talked to Barclays about this and they told me that this is not one of their numbers and they would not call from an Unknown number.
They then tried to use my card in 3 different stores.- Caller: Jennifer
- Vicki| 2 repliesI was called by this guy named Erin from an Unknown number too... right before my identity was stolen. I reported to Barclays and they have closed down my cards and reissued them because they had added another person to my account. Plus they had tried to use my card in a grocery store.
Jennifer is not a real person, these people are hackers. Don't give them your information and report everything that happens to the credit card company.
They also requested my credit report before I could, and they got insisted on me giving them my birthdate... but credit card companies don't ask for your birthdate. I learned a long time ago not to give away information over the phone to strangers. They should already have the information at your credit card and will not ask you for new information. You can always hang up and call the credit card company at the phone number on the back of your card to see if they really called you. Barclays seems to be having alot of problems with hackers. Plus, change your passcode to something only you know and not your Mother's maiden name, anyone can find out your geneaology on the internet.- Caller: A Thief
- anonymous replies to VickiYou don't have to use your mom's real maiden name as the answer to the security question "What is your mother's maiden name?" Use a nonsensical answer like Olympics2012 and all the genealogical records on the internet won't help the hackers but you must NEVER forget the answer or you'll be up the creek yourself.
- Brian replies to VickiIs this a problem if I don't have a Barclay bank account?
- TravisHad a message on my home phone voice mail from an "unknown caller". The message said the call was from "Steve" with Barclay Bank and he was calling about my MasterCard account. He expressed the urgency of my calling him back and that they were open 24/7. I called the number left for me 888-232-0776. A pre-recording said for security purposes the call may be recorded. Then a nice little lady named Jennifer came on the line and asked the nature of my call. I told her I was returning a call from Steve at this number. She then asked me for my account number. I told her if indeed you called me, you have my account number. She then said "If you're more comfortable you can give me the home number on the account". I told her if they called me...they have my home phone number. This is when I got suspicious and told her this call did not sound legit as I was in possession of my card and current on all payments and did not choose to divulge any information to her whatsoever. She tried to assure me that she was with the Security Department of Barclays Bank...and I told her to have a nice day.
- Caller: "Barclays Bank Security Dept"
- c mitchellI got a letter from them telling me to call in reference to my card rewards.
- Caller: Barclaycard
- DonI received a call from someone representing Barclay and they directed me to call 888-232-0776. They said someone had applied for a loan with them. They ask for my birthday and mothers maiden name. SCAM.
- Caller: Barclay
- AlHow can we report this agency. They have called me several times. I'm tired of them calling me.
- SaraJust want to confirm that this is a scam. I received a call from an unknown number and the message was from "Kevin" with Barclays security department stating that there had been a breach on my account and to call back immediately. I first checked my account and all seem fine. I looked up the Barclays phone number and gave them a call at the number listed on my website. I then confirmed with someone there that no one from their security department had called me and that the phone number I was given by "Kevin" was not a Barclays number. So if you get a call from this number, ignore it and do not give them any info! I'm kind of creeped out that they knew my full name and phone number at all.
- annoyedThis security Dept from Barclay cards called saying someone opened a recent credit app in my name and left this number 888 232 0776. when I called they asked me to verify my phone number and asked me if I had and ID number. I verified my phone number since most have caller id anyway. they wanted my name cuz they couldn't find anything on my phone number and that was it. I'm done. think this is a scam.
- Caller: Barclay
- TSNo caller ID no return call. Scam

- DisgustingMy mom got a call from this phone number today, 1/13/16, from some lady that she could not understand her name. She was telling my mom that she owes about $500 on some credit card that my mom owned from their place "Barclays" I guess, my mom did not even remember owning this card or if she did, was many years ago. She said to my mom that there were charges made to a Montego Bay, (do not know what is that) Foot lockers and some trash like that and if she wanted to make any payments she could do it with her. If it weren't for my niece that her my mom on the phone arguing not purchasing anything on this card, this scumbag on the phone probably would have taken money from my mom. I hate this criminals I hope they get caught soon and hope they rot in hell. I'm so upset!!!!! I am reporting this phone number right away to the appropriate authorities and Fraud Department for investigation of same.
