- benFund raising for veterans
- Call type: Debt collector
- RMR| 1 replyThis number calls at least 4 or 5 times a day. I am certain it is a scam calling itself a veteran's charity. What makes it sad is that we used to donate to different charities. Now we only donate through church. There is not way to figure out who is scamming and who isn't. I am so tired of this as we are on a do not call list. I realize do not call lists don't apply to charities, but these scammers are skirting the law.
- dean sattesonphone rings, i answer and no one is there. this happens all the time. 3 or 4 times a day.
- Caller: unknown
- Call type: Debt collector
- anonymous replies to RMRThe phone number is actually for a professional call center that solicits donations for actual charities. In my case I had donated to the Center for Homeless Veterans before and they were calling to get an annual donation. The Center for Homless Veterans in VA is a legitimate charity, not a scam. It is a bad idea, however, for them to be using this call center that is relentless in their calling, never leaves a message, and shows up as "unknown caller" on my caller id.

NO ANSWER - Cottontop| 2 repliesThe number comes up as a toll free call but like you said they call several times a day and leave no message. I have a serious heart conditon and they have been calling waking me up when I need rest. They have called twice in the past hour. What can I do about it ? Any suggestions would great!
- Your Mom replies to Cottontop| 1 replyCottontop, consider changing your #. Your health is more important than these jerks who have nothing better to do than to try to scam hardworking people. Change your # and be done with it. The hassle of changing a number is less than being woken up when you should be recuperating your health.
- SMART A## replies to Your MomYou can call this number back and it will give you a list of options, at the end it will tell you to press 9 to repeat the options. Find a good television show sit down and just push 9 every 15-20 seconds and it will tie up one of their lines and drive up their bill. It won't take you off a list, but it may send a message if enough people do it.
- Linda Elveycalls for solicitations for veterans. Most of the time don't answer
- Katies NamaCalled thanking me for provious donations - I had not donated to them. I I asked for a web site - was told it was not quite up and running. Asked what percentage went to actual veteran's group - he didn't know percent, but gave me a non-toll free number to call to speak to their President (Brian?) They're sending an envelope and info, so I guess I'll check them out then...
- Caller: Center for Homeless Vets
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- JackAccording to a recorded message when I called back...Charitable fund raising for groups such as homeless veterans, special olympics, etc.
Note, they are not restricted by the DO NOT CALL registry.
I am certain it is scam, because Special Olympics comes up on my caller id when they do call...number is not the same.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Sueam on do not call list, don't want these calls
- KalThese people call 2 or 3 times a day, every day, including Saturdays and Sundays. Even when I pick up the phone, there is nobody on the other end. I have stopped answering the phone when they call. If I don't feel like hearing the ringing, I'll pick up after 1 ring and hang up.
- susie snowflakeThese robo-callers need to stop calling people who do not know them AND do not want to know them.
It is not cool.- Caller: TOLL FREE CALL
