Called as a debt collector under the name of a law office. I don't have any debts nor have received any letters. Pretty sure this is from another group posing as text book rental debt collectors. I have never rented a text book either.

Called and left a message on my cell phone that she was calling from the law firm of Crystal Maroni (?) and that they were a debt collector. She left the number 888 238 0711 and that I should call immediately to avoid any further legal action.

Just got the same call from the same number. Thought it might be a scam too.

I got a call from this number and it is the Law Offices of Crystal Moroney. On the website she states this:

LOCM is an all woman owned, operated, and managed law firm, comprised of professional attorneys, legal assistants and support professionals dedicated to resolving your legal matters.
But I received a call from a guy.

They will not send any proof of debt and fees. This guy claims that the only way to send such information is if I admit guilt to the so called debt.

called saying they are a debt collector. said I owe from previous rented text books, but I have receipts of turning the books in on time. confirmed with the bookstore as well. this number is a SCAM.

They called last year, and i played along and went through some hoops just to show them how terrible there little scam was, then again this year they are trying to call to do and say the same thing.
Pathetic people these days.

Yes I believe this is a scam I asked him or her both to send me the information but they had no response to my request. Humm that is all I know about this company. If it is a company.😂

That's because if you admit to the debt, then you would have to pay it. If you don't admit to the debt, you won't have to pay it. Especially if it's not from the actual company that you owe the money to. I wouldn't admit to nothing.

We don't hear much of that one around here, but luckily you should be OK if you read the other posts.

They called twice and said they were a lawyer collecting a debt

Number show up they did not leave a  messages,I call the number back  due to the  fact that I am expecting a phone call,she told me she was calling from a law firm and needed to speak to so-so about a legal matter could I please tell so-so to call her back.I don't think that is going to happen.I have not receive any letters from anyone stating I owe any money to them.

You won't until they communicate with you about the alleged debt

Received call with call back number 8882380711. Called back. They were passed a collection account from Nebraska book rental for a book NBR is saying I never returned, and I did. I plan to retrieve emails between me and NBR and have this matter resolved.

Since this is a third party debt collector, you don't have to do anything to prove that you don't owe.  You should have read the other posts and then you would have known that.
