There was an attempt to hack into my computer...call this phone number to report security issue...supposed microsoft support! I could not easily remove this popup window. I was suspicious and rightly so, so be aware not just scam calls but hacking attempts as well!!

Easily removed by shutting down the computer and then on restart clearing the cache, cookies, and history.  Even easier to prevent by installing and using an ad blocker.

This is NOT a Microsoft number.  They will hack into your phone and steal your banking information.  Then someone from the bank will tell you that your account has been compromised and tell you to go to the bank and wire money into a secure account to protect that money.  But you have to be on the phone with them the entire time so you can't talk to anyone else.  They will scare you and threaten you.

rude people that cant speak english very well and claim they are not doing anything to your computer.

Loud warning and screen that my computer had been compromised by a trojan virus,  said they were Microsoft and not to turn the computer off and call that number,  I did shut my computer off and called the number from my phone.  Someone from India? answered and I hung up.

Scammer and hacker. Said from Microsoft Not true I found out the hard way. Lost $1000

Warning popped up saying to call the number.  I did not call.   I shut my computer down.
