My elderly father was called 7 times in one week with messages from Beth and she stated she was from Global Service and to call her back at 888-240-0182 regarding a personal matter..I called them and  they wanted information regarding my sister who has not been at that number for thirty five years and is estranged from her father. I cheerfully volunteered to give them my sisters information for a fee. They replied that they did not pay for information. I replied that obviously they did want to find her. I called them back 30 times a day for a month just to tie them up. They are a debt collection agency

I am not the person they want to reach.  However, the keep calling me on and on.  When I have called back to tell them I am not that person, they say it "reactivates the number."  When I ask what state they are located in, they hang up on me - this has happened more than once.

They call me everyday like several times.  Beth from Global Services.  She ask me to call 1-888-240-0182, but the number listed on my caller ID is a Michigan Number of (517)224-4619.  When I called they said we are looking for a Karen Hummel, then asked me to verify the last 4 digits of my social security number due to a personal matter.  Then this black guy said his name was Mark Maxwell.  When I refused to give him the info, then he became argumentive with me then I just hung up.  I'm calling a Lawyer and my local TV, so that people are awAre of this SCAM!!!

I received the same message.  The woman stated I took out a pay day loan on October, 2012.  She wanted me to make payment arrangements today. I told her I would have to verify if I owed the money.  She said she was going to serve me with papers.  I said I could not make any decisions until I checked.  She hung up

i called back because i am tired of hearing my daughter's phone go off every day 5x a day with a msg from BETH each time. No one is legally allowed to discuss information such as this over the phone. When i said WHY hasn't she been served papers..."FRANK RODRIGUEZ's" response was that "it's because it hasn't got to that level."  im going to have to Google the law the now bc i don't think anything should be allowed to be discussed over the phone. He then proceeded to tell me he will just "confirm" with my daughter if she so chooses to call back herself....he wont ask last 4 of her social...they know wherr she lives and where she works and have sent letters. I said no my husband checks the mail EVERYDAY and i sort it. N not once has she gotten a letter from Global services. These websites give out all info on ppl when u type it in....pay a bill. I said IM GOING TO REPORT U TO THE FBI. And do u want to know...he laughed at me and said "come on ma'am u really think they care about stuff that small?" FRUAD and im going further

They call our business line several times each day. We have tod them rpeatedly te oerdon they ask for does not work here & never has & we request they stop calling & tying up our business line. They are very rude, say they will remove our number then call again an hour later. Calls seem to be going up in frequency since we complained!

No need to Google anything.  They cannot legally discuss the debt with anyone other than the debtor unless they have been given permission to do.  This is a "process server" extortion scam.  If they have sent letters, then the letters must contain the following and she should have responded right away with a debt validation letter (please give us the address for this outfit that is on the letter).

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
