- JM| 1 replyI have been starting to receive these calls over the last couple of weeks as well stating the whole story about verification of my address was incomplete and I must call before the end of today or they will proceed.
So, Mr. Matthew Thomas, how about trying to leave a more detail message professional message as too, who the original creditor was, then request an address so your letter of debt showing that you purchased the debt from and how all fees where calculated, then a legimate settling offer if this is a true debt.- Caller: Consolidated

- Gracie replies to Latatia| 1 replyHere maybe an answer to those calls:
Debt collectors do not have the right to call you whenever they want to. According to the FDCPA, a debt collector can only contact you between 8:00 in the morning and 9:00 at night. In addition, they may not contact you at work if they are told verbally or in writing that you're not allowed to receive calls at the work place.
However, this may not stop some debt collectors from harassing you at work. Their goal is to make you feel ashamed or embarrassed. They're betting on that you'll get so fed up that you'll break down and send them a payment just to make them stop -- don't give in!
If the collector continues to call you at work after you’ve told them verbally or in writing that you are not allowed to receive calls there, they are violating the FDCPA. - Mike in MD replies to JMVery likely a shady debt collector or outright debt collection scam. If they do not have a complete address there is no way they can proceed since court cases cannot proceed without service. If they had a legitimate debt, they would have your address. Seems like an information phishing scam.
- whosurgal replies to GracieI have received calls from this number saying I have a lot of charges against me and that I need to call this number 888-247-7329. First of all I never received any mail stating I owe anything to anyone at this number. They call my work and one of my employees called and they told her that I have charges against me and that I am in a lot of trouble. First of all I can't beleive they told this to a stranger. Now my whole department knows about this call. So who can I call to report this? Anyone know. I live in Michigan.
Thanks
