- Phone ReceiverDon’t pick up this phone because it’s extremely suspicious that it’s unknown. They probably don’t want you to track them down. That is why they are an unknown caller. If you pick up their phone number, you can possibly be tracked by them, so be careful.

- AllikatSaid he was with Bank of America and he had a credit app submitted in my name. Told him I had not submitted a credit app. He asked me for my birth date and I refused, telling him I had no way of knowing if he was really with BofA. Then he asked to verify my address which I also refused to do. He then said they would send me a letter I will get within 10 days.

- carl| 1 replyAn advance schema that I felt prey to. The day before the Credit Bureau notified me that Bank of America is trying to check your credit. Then I immediately get an email claiming to be BoA, saying thank you for turning CC application. Two hours later I get a call claiming to be BoA....inquiring whether I am attempting to open an account. The lady didn't seem like she was from overseas like most schemes. She spoke well with all the BoA lingo and asked for my DOB and she knew I had frozen all my credit. Call dropped halfway ...I suspect she didn't want to be traced. Then I called BoA and I get the BoA greeting. Later she calls again to confirm that they have cancelled the application.

- carl replies to carlLater I call the Official BoA number and BoA is so disorganized. I had the same issue happen with Capital One and they were so organized. After waiting an hour and being transfered to 4 individuals ....still no one could say whether this was a BoA phone number. No one could find the number. The reference app number in the email could not be found by BoA.
