- whoplenty of calls to my son's emergency-only cellphone.
- AnonAlways call EARLY IN THE MORNING, always a machine asking to "press the one key". They obviously don't know the difference between buttons and keys.
- LaniThey are lying saying that the company is demanding payment in full. Call the company you are in debt too and you will easily settle without the agency. They are lying and producing false information, demanding immediate payment in full and threatening from blocking your service/membership forever.

- zilo| 20 repliesThis scam company, Midwest Recovery Systems is taking their scam to a new level. They contacted a couple of the major credit reporting agencies, Equifax and TransUnion, and stated that I was taken to collections because of an unpaid Payday Loan to SSM Group, LLC. I have never heard of SSM Group or even taken out a payday loan. No paperwork was ever sent to me of an unpaid payday loan by Midwest Recovery Systems so I am not sure how they can easily post fictitious delinquent accounts to the major credit reporting agencies.
Anyway, be careful out there and keep an eye on your credit report.
I contacted both Equifax and TransUnion about the false information on my credit report. I guess they tried contacting Midwest Recovery Systems with no luck so they took the delinquent, false information off my credit report.- Caller: Midwest Recovery Systems

- BigA replies to zilo| 1 replyFrom what I can see this outfit is famous for ignoring all Federal and State collection laws. You have an excellent FDCPA case against them, and I would suggest you pursue it.
Go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I have never heard of this Evergreen Payday Services. I just put in disputes on both and will do Experian in a little bit. Payday loans are also illegal in the state I live in so they can't be collected on regardless. These companies need to be shut down.
- Gina replies to ziloI just looked at my credit report and both are hit with $690. Opened in September and reported November add delinquent! I have never heard of these people..I have never opened anything! I was hit with that scam phone call from the IRS .. I didn't give them any info but they called allot! I just wonder if it's linked to that! Now how do I get it removed? Ugh..hate scampers!!I'm trying so hard to build my credit!
- JamiePut that I owe 770.00 on credit karma and me trying to buy a house!!
- nascar88| 1 replyPer Credit Karma it shows an open collection in the amount of $770.00 with Midwest Recovery Systems. I have filed a complaint with TransUnion to have this removed from my credit report as I do not know what this is for. I took a 40 point hit on my credit report.
- Pissed| 4 replies$800 hit my Transunion account per Credit Karma. Credit took a hit. Currently disputing this!! Scammers!!!!! NEVER HEARD OF THEM!!!!!!
- Caller: Midwest Recovery / CARDINAL MANAGEMENT LLC
- SICK AND TIRED OF SCAMMERSReceived a $530 hit on my credit report as well. They say they are Midwest Recovery ( 12 Huskhawk Group) I have never ever heard of these people as well as never took out a payday loan with them. If it was so important to them don't you think they would have sent paperwork or went through the court system. SCAMMERS.... This needs to STOP!!

- LawAbidingCitizen| 1 replyYep. I got a notice from my credit reporting systems - Credit Sesame and Credit Wise by Capital One about Midwest Recovery, for 12 Advance America (original creditor - pay day loan) in the stupid amount of $977!!!! That 888 253-3440 number was actually listed on the credit report, with the address of the bogus company in St. Charles, MO. They are probably the ones who have been TRYING to contact me through family members, either using other bogus names, OR, this is just the newest scam in my life right now. I was glad I was able to write my comments about them in my dispute as well as selecting "not my account". I really want TransUnion and all other credit reporting systems to KNOW WHY THEY CAN'T JUST ADD THIS CRAP to folks' records. NO THANK YOU!
- Ron replies to LawAbidingCitizenThat is why there is a law that allows you to sue the credit bureaus (FCRA).
- LosaShowed up on my credit report and was part of a bankruptcy 10 yrs ago of which now they have no legal right to collect or call much less put anything on my credit report
- Caller: Midwest recovery
- LawAbidingCitizen| 3 repliesI'm waiting for Transunion and Equifax to delete this mess. Midwest Recovery never called me. I got an alert from Credit Karma, Credit Sesame and CreditWise of Capital One about this malarky. Their phone number on my credit reports is the same one listed here. I know what they want me to do is call them so they can begin the verbal harassment. Not gonna bite.

- BigA replies to LawAbidingCitizen| 2 repliesIn half a year, their complaints went from 82 to 323 and their negative reviews went from 1 to 5, yet the BBB raised their rating from a B to an A-. Wonder how much that cost?
In any case, you should still send a certified, return receipt letter to Midwest, and then sue them for FDCPA and FCRA violations as well as report them to the agencies I previously listed and provided links to

- LawAbidingCitizen replies to Pissed| 3 repliesI'm curious as to the result of your dispute. I put in a couple of disputes on 12/14/16 (Transunion and Equifax), and was advised that my claims would be resolved within 30 days. I've disputed things before on these credit bureaus, but I suppose because of their nature, it didn't take even half as long. What I'm hoping is that there are so many hundreds of disputes filed against Midwest Recovery (Systems, LLC or whatever they're calling themselves) - that we will NEVER have to be concerned about them filing another fraudulent report against us. Of course, they'll just probably change their name and go at it again. But - Advance America is a red flag for me because it's closed. WILL THE CREDIT BUREAU RED FLAG THESE SCAMMERS TO PREVENT THIS SCAM FROM HAPPENING IN THE FUTURE? Sorry, this got long and disjointed. Thanks for reading. (But I would like to know if your situation was/is resolved).
- LawAbidingCitizen replies to nascar88Was your dispute resolved in your favor? I'm still waiting to hear back. Thanks.
- LawAbidingCitizen replies to Kayleigh324| 4 repliesI'm asking everyone on the board who put in a dispute if you've been cleared. I disputed these scammers on Transunion and Equifax on 12/14/16 and it's supposed to take at least 30 days. I have a few more days left. I want this nightmare to end. Is yours resolved?
