Threat of legal action to someone with a different name

Calling about legal action for a family member.

No! They left another message today though. Call comes through as UKNOWN. Imagine that!

They answer the phone as "Corporate Office" calling from an unknown number and have been harassing my family members, I told them if they have a case go ahead and file it and formally subpoena me. I hope they are caught before someone falls prey to paying $ for this scam.

This phone number is associated to United Associates in San Diego California

Someone tried me like this last year around this time. with the same scam. Telling me I owe Wachovia Bank 2k for an overdue past balance of $75. Yea I told them send me to court. They have changed the number and source and now they are saying that it is because of an complaint.

Someone with the name of Michael called as unknown caller about a legal action but they used my maiden name. It was about doctor’s reference number. It is a scam because my health insurance has a married name. He left a voicemail and I won’t call them back.

My dad and cousin received phone calls from this number stating it was urgent they get in touch with me.  I called this number back and they said it was a legal matter.  But the name was not mine...similar.   He never asked for money.  Very rude though. I asked what company he was with and he would only say he was calling from a legal law office, judgement & records dept.  It's infuriating my family members and myself were harassed by these people.

Received a call from “unknown blocked ID” lady said There is a civil complain against me and to call this 1-888-256-8407 with a case #. Once called a secretary answered it as “hello corporate number” when I told her The reason for my call she placed me on hold then a man answered and would not answer any of my questions and would only state He was mediator to collect a debt but would not say where from and got mad when’s i asked questions then told me to tell a judge then hung up on me. Many family members (including past ex husband family) are now receiving calls telling them same info and giving case number with the 1-888 number to have me call. I have Called the police and was told to file a report. I will Be looking to address the attorney general and anyone else that can put a stop to this SCAM and quit harassing me and family members. I have Verified the laws and this does not comply with the legal rights with a debt collector. I also Have no outstanding debts and have a credit report that has protection. Please be aware!!!

Same here.  They are calling everyone from my husband to my ex mother in law.
