Scam call. Wells Fargo states this is not one of their numbers

This is a scam number.

Call from Fernando at Wells Fargo with a case number. Asked for identification from me and I didn't provide. I realized few minutes later it must be fraudulent and found their number on this site. The caller is professional and seems like a valid call but cases are generally filed at a local bank or letters are sent to your home. DONT GIVE ANY INFORMATION OUT TO THIS NMBR.

I had the same issue. A man called "Tennessee" called from Wells Fargo and wanted me to give him specific information. He said he must have my claim number before he could talk to me. I do have a claim, but I feel this is a robocall calling everyone to get a claim # from Wells Fargo. If after hundreds of calls they get a claim #, then they can 'identify theft'. I told him that he called me and I had no duty to release any information. It was his duty to confirm the for me who he was and why he was calling--if not, bye bye...I hung up.

This is a valid number. Not Spam. If you file a complaint or claim with Wells Fargo this number this number may call you back. We called it back and we got our refund back to our account. For those who chose to treat the number as spam, your complaint will never be resolved!

I've received two different calls from this number, one claiming to be from Wells Fargo and one claiming to be a credit union in Florida. Both calls cite the same reference number, and the same 'agent' to call back. I called Wells Fargo directly and they informed me it's a phishing scam.
If you ever receive a call from a financial institution, you can always call them back directly with the number on your atm card or via their website regarding the issue if you are event the slightest bit suspicious and you will never be penalized

The number 1-888-261-2807 is NOT an authorized Wells Fargo number. IT IS A SCAM/FRAUD!!! I contacted Wells Fargo directly, and they assured me that they do NOT use ANY 888 numbers; all of their numbers are a 800 ONLY. I would also like to note that my family works for Wells Fargo, and we all know this was a fraud/scam call. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO!!! Hang up, and call the number on the back of your Wells Fargo card. Make sure your account hasnt been breached. You can also contact your phone provider and have them run a software scan to make sure they havent accessed any sensitive info off your cell. 1-888-261-2807 IS A SCAM!!!

They are constantly calling me and now my ex husband..harrassing me. They don't even answer like a law firm that they claim to be. I never had Credit One bank..  they claimed that Credit One Bank is suing me and they are the law office but wouldn't give me the name of the law firm.

I called Wells Fargo directly and they were the ones that provided this number to me. It is dealing with a fraud claim that you need to have a claim number for and it is a direct line to the claim specialist.

no offense but some of the Wells Fargo employees that you talk to over the phone don't even know their a** from a hole in the ground. Wells Fargo has a listed 1866 number for the fraud department.

This number is not a scam...it is a valid number for Wells Fargo’s customer care case manager department...this number is used if you file a claim or complaint with WF...whoever said that the 800 number customer service reps don’t know their A from a hole in the ground is 100% correct...I went through 5 different people at their normal 800 number for customer service, none of which knew what they were doing and that’s how I got this number...the 5th person I talked to said he would file a claim, then he gave me this phone number for me to call and check the status of my claim, I have a claim number and this 888 number is the number to help with that bc I just called it and guess who answered...Wells Fargo Customer Care and they were great to talk to...much better service than the 800 customer service reps.
