My husband received a call today stating that he needed to call this number to avoid getting a subpoena for a medical debt, he was at work so told them he would call me and I would call them back. When I called back, I asked a bunch of questions and was told that it was a debt from nearly 14 years ago and that they were trying to help us out by offering a payment plan but we would need to pay $200 today, when I told the guy that I didn't feel comfortable and that it was kind of crazy to me that all of a sudden they are claiming my husband is going to be subpoena from a medical debt they claim he had 14 years ago, I was told "you can purchase a pre paid card if that makes you feel better". I told him that without an attorney looking over the "letter" they sent me in an email after I asked his response was "well can you call me back in within 3 hours?" I think its complete BULL. They stated their company name was Bayview Asset Group.

Well, first off you would not be getting a "subpoena".  Second they could not legally sue for that debt in 49 states, so unless you happen to live in Kentucky you can take that lawsuit off the table.  What did this letter sent by email say?  Did it give their name and address?  If so what is it?

Following is what it is required to say by law:

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

I found a website for them.  The address listed is a virtual office in a Regus bldg.  Regus caters to criminal organizations trying to hide where they truly are.  The website went up 4/23/19 and is scheduled to expire on 4/23/20.  Surprisingly I also found a registration for them with a registered agent so that they can be served with an FDCPA lawsuit.

Scammers!
They asked for my email so that I could send them my credit card # information. They were offering me a deal to pay almost $2000, or they would garnish my wages, for a credit card bill that was closed in early 2000’s
So I emailed them back asking for the court documents and case number also requested a copy account statement.... no reply!

There pulling same scam from8882757563 almost had me but I consulted with my mentor . They said they were with processing to serve papers on a message and when I called back the same voice on the message answered I called the man by name he used but of course he said that wasn’t his name  people beware of the scam don’t give them any money
