- Butterflu Kisses| 4 repliesI was called by an unknown caller several times they finally left a message for me to call this number 888-261-8309. When I called I was first told Transit Capitol Group then EDR Firm. Then I guy name Richard Greene called me. Then a lady name Cynthia Marshall. I really don't know I was contacted saying I owed BMG from April 16, 2009 and I told them I didn't know anything about it they said they located my where abouts and I will be served papers by an agent tomorrow afternoon to go to court. I don't know what it is. Do anyone know anything about these people?
- King Neptune replies to Butterflu Kisses| 2 repliesI just got a call from some law firm in Nashville that gave me this number, 888 261 8309 and said that these people TCG and Associates were suing my daughter????? Is this some kind of a scam??
- Butterfly Kisses replies to King NeptuneThat is how they reached me they called my mom and said the same thing that is why I called them. But I was told that its was a scam I am trying to figure it out. I was told they had to contact you in writing.
- Butterfly Kisses replies to King NeptuneAlso when they left the message they said they were TC G but when I called they were called another name.
- Courtney| 2 repliesI received a call from a guy named Alex something. It was stated that they are a private locating firm, I was given a case number involving a legal review due to suspicious activity on my banking account fraudulent use of checks. A company in Texas will be used to locate me so a summons could be served to my home or place of employment. They want me to contact EDR firm to rectify this on voluntary terms. Please call corporate office number 888-261-8309. Then goes on to say I have officially been served and good luck! I think it is a debt collector the case number did have the last 4 of my social security number on it. Not sure what is going on but when can a debt collector threaten to sue you??
- Caller: EDR firm (i think)
- Ashlyn replies to CourtneyI recieved the exact same phone call just today! They said they were going to issue a court summons to me today due to suspicious activity on my bank acct. They said I had officially been notified and good luck. Can they do this? What are my rights?
- cg replies to Butterflu Kisseswere you ever served with papers?
- cgthese same people called my mother just this evening. do any of you have answers as to what its about and were any of you served with papers for something?
- Caller: tcg
- MandyI got a very sim call, have been getting them for awhile now, up until a few days ago, they finally left me a message, stating and order was given that morning to issue me a summons for bad check, if i wanted to handle this matter out side of court to call back, he left no call back num. I called my lawyer and got some legal advice. I got another call a few days later, stating the same blah blah blah, except this time he had a case number and said they had my place of employment and were gonna come to my job and serve me, if i dont call this 800 number back and settle this. I laughed. As per my attonery......YOU CAN NOT GET SUMMONS OVER THE PHONE! if you are being summons, it comes either certified mail or a member of the clerks office will deliver it themselves, in the rare case of a phone calls, the DA will contact you! not someone in a damn call center( if u listen closely you can hear other people talking) and they sure as hell dont leave 1800 numbers to call back, and once you have been summons thats a matter of the courts. LMAO these ppl are SCAMMERS!!!!!
- Call type: Debt collector
- Jackie IveyI got a call from a Cynthia Marshall from TCG&ASSOCIATES STATING I owed Check-n-Go Payday LOAN place in Ala. I LOOKED IT UP on the internet. This is a scam. They was threatening to issue a warrant on me by this afternoon if I did not get it paid. Thank goodness I did not give them all the info they was asking for. This is for real a scam!
- Caller: TCG&ASSOCIATES
- Call type: Debt collector
- patsgirl2272I got a call from them today. Stated it was Richard Barnes from Transit Capital and they were a locating firm and were trying to find me to serve me papers and I needed to call 888-283-5495. I have had this happen before and it is a scam. It is just frustrating that I can't answer my phone without being harrassed!
- Caller: Transit Capital
- not Delores DegrateThe following phone numbers are amongst the litter I have received:
888-251-4117
888-283-5495
Someone named "Richard Barnes" leaves a ridiculous message asking for different people. They are truly desperate and got upset because I called them back a number of times asking for information. Just tell them you'd like your phone number to be removed and then forward them to the proper authorities.- Caller: Transit Authority (which doesn't exist)
- Tired of being bullied replies to CourtneyThey can threaten to sue you but if they mention that they will be filing charges against you that is a violation of the law.
- Siaosi206| 3 repliesI didn't receive a call, but a letter in the mail today stating that I have unclaimed funds that would be turned over to the state from a recent sale of a property if I don't respond within 72 hours of getting this letter . I called, but only got voicemail, so I left a message. Weird thing is that the letter doesn't have a sender name, address, or even a company or organization on it....???? The only thing showing some kind of trace is the post office stamp, from Santa Ana, CA...weird...
- Caller: N/A
- William replies to Siaosi206Sounds like they are phishing for your personal identification.
If the number you called was this number, then it is probably a scam.
Any "unclaimed funds" that are turned over to the state are yours to claim later anyway, so all you have to do is check every state's website of unclaimed funds about once a month and it will eventually show up. - David replies to Siaosi206I'm still living at my mom's house, which got foreclosed on last week due to reasons I don't wanna get into, and I just got a couple of these addressed to my brothers (both of whom moved out years ago). It definitely seems kinda fishy. I might try calling the number later today to see who answers and if it sounds like a scam (which it probably is).
- Same thing replies to Siaosi206I got the exact thing the other day. I'm in Washington state, are you? I thought it was strange as well. I have been researching them for about 7 to 8 hours (O.C.D) before i found this page. Thanks for posting
- linkinpark187I haven't lived at my dad's house for 15 years, yet this number tried looking for me there. This is definitely a scam phishing for personal data. We have the same first and last name, told them they had the wrong one of us, but didn't give them my contact information.
The information they already have on you is, for the most part, is public knowledge. DO NOT give them any information past what they already have. If they are, in fact, going to serve you with a summons, you will get it in paper, not over the phone.- Caller: TCG & Associates
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- MONICA| 1 replyI just received a phone call from tcg and associates but i let it go to voicemail and i havent called back which i wont but i did block the number on my phone. This is a scam and please be careful. They are trying to get your personal information.
- Caller: TCG & ASSCOIATES
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to MONICANo, they are trying to extort money. Your "personal information" is pretty much useless when compared to the hundreds or thousands of dollars they extort from you.
