they called for a relative and had their email... claimed that we needed to call back within 24 hrs regarding a complaint they received.

Got a call from a Cindy Patterson and said she is from richmond county court looking to call to see when i will be home to serve me court papers. When I called this number and gave me a case number and said it was for an old credit card. They will settle for $1200.00. I fell for it and now i am wondering if i was scamed.

Was calles today and asked if I would be home tomorrow between 9am and 4 pm to be served with papers. a complaint against me was filed in their office. Is this a scam? showed up as a private number. The number they left was 888-275-7563

Yes, it's a scam. REAL process servers don't call in advance. Just block and ignore such calls if you can.

Yes, you were scammed. If you gave them a credit or debit card number, contact the card issuer and report a fraudulent transaction then cancel the card. You MAY be able to get your money back. If you paid them by gift card, money order or other untraceable means, your money is gone.
NEVER simply pay someone who calls claiming you owe money. Always demand they follow the law by MAILING you proof of the debt along with proof they're legally entitled to collect said debt. Phone calls, faxes, texts, and emails are NOT legal methods of debt validation.

The only reason this scammer would contact someone again is to try convincing them of the scam.

These morons just contacted my relative regarding me as well... Said I had 24 hours to respond. So, I did. Told me I'm being sued for defrauding a bank I had back in 2008. Uh? What? What does that even mean? Besides the fact, that was 12 years ago... I don't even remember that account, and have these idiots ever heard of statue of limitations?? No doubt, scam. Well, not me buddy! Not happening. No info exchanged other than their bogus "claim number". Can't wait to be summoned to this fake civil suit. 🙄 Newsflash, I maintain my life and debts. Try with someone else!

Got a voicemail on my relatives phone saying there was a complaint against me and gave me a "file number" as a reference... name was Jennifer Clark... SOUNDS BOGUS...

We just got the same call. Came up as private. She said her name was Rebecca Walters. Made it sound like two attempts were made to summons a relative and that they were only going to try again once more. She gave us a case #. She said to have him call back. My husband called back and told her we looked her the number she gave us up on the internet and read the complaints and wanted to be sure it wasn't a scam. She hung up on him. Definitely a scam call.

Of course they haven't heard of "statue of limitations" because there's no such thing! Now, "statute of limitations" they've probably heard of. Since you haven't, you should look it up.

No Calls Today.  Watched my home security cameras... No one lingering to Serve me with anything as of yet. They are ridicules
