They have send the message to my I Phone. The CS with Hindu accent wanted my credit card number to put some protection plan on my cell phone. He said that he represent an Apple company . They did not want to give me their email address . If I pay with CC they will give me the confirmation number over the phone .

Yes, I got this message on my iPhone and called and same thing happened.

I got the same problem. It just happened a couple of hours ago. I told him, let me talk to my husband at first, then I'll call you (mean him) later. I am glad I didn't do what he urge me to do. Got a message to call same thing claimed they were from Apple wanted 99. For a protection plan I called apple care after and gave them the number and supposed techs name

Yes it was. Any random call with a foreigner on the other end isn't good, especially when it's about finances, or your computer. Your money is gone and you need to run spyware and virus checks on it. Unless you've given a tech support rep access it, there's no way they can tell what's going on with it.

Gmail sent an email from two of my contacts with an email message "not able to show full message you can view by clicking here" just opening up the email popped up a message to call this number.

I received an email, supposedly from family member, that ultimately led to message that "ipad was under malware attack". Access to internet was cut off. Site then stated to call Apple at above (toll free) number to get problem fixed. After long wait on phone, I hung up.

To remove 1 888 2754 8940 malware from ipad, delete history and reconnect to router. Steps are. settings--safari-clear history and settings-Wi=Fi-reconnect to router ( if needed)
