    Job Applicant
Every since I filled out an application on the job board Bright.com, I've been getting all these type of calls from different area codes and toll free numbers. Feels like the worst thing I could've done. I have a prepaid phone so they won't get their calls answered wasting my minutes. These types of calls have officially filled up my block list. Watch out for fake applications and job postings! They will solicit your info.

I have been receiving calls from this number twice a day and I've had it.  I don't know who they are because I never answer calls from unknown numbers.

Received a call from this number. My son answered the phone and the guy, who sounded impatient, asked for me by name. My son asked who was calling and he said he called the wrong number; he was calling CO and then hung up. That didn't make sense so I Googled the phone number and see the same rude guy has been calling people for a while now.

TO EVERYONE WHO HAS OR IS RECEIVING "TELEMARKETING" PHONE CALLS, AND  INCLUDING YOUR CELL PHONES WHO HAS REGISTERED THEIR PHONE NUMBERS WITH THE " FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION DO NOT CALL LIST" PLEASE FILE A COMPLAINT ASAP WITH THE FTC. iF YOU HAVEN'T REGISTERED THOSE PHONE NUMBERS "DO IT NOW". THE INFORMATION ON HOW TO REGISTER AND FILE A COMPLAINT IS ON THE FTC WEB SITE. ALSO ON THE WEB SITE THE INFORMATION ADVISES WHAT ORGANIZATIONS CAN MAKE "TELEMARKETKING PHONE CALLS". IN THE FEDERAL "TELEMARKETING" LAW THERE IS A CLAUSE THAT STATES IF YOU FILE A COMPLAINT AND THE ORGANIZATION WHO PAYS FOR THE PHIONE NUMBER CAN BE FINED UP TO $11,00 PER PHONE CALL AND PHONE NUMBER. MANY OF THESE ORGANIZATIONS WILL USE DIFFERENT PHONE NUMBERS. THAT'S WHY IT IS SO IMORTANT TO MAKE A COPY OF EACH COMPLAINT.

I HAVE BEEN INFORMING AS MANY CONSUMERS AS I CAN ABOUT THE FTC AND THE "DO NOT CALL LIST", AND THE "TELEMARKING LAW". SOME STATES IN THE US HAVE STATE LAWS ABOUT TELEMARKETING. CHECK WITH YOUR STATE "ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE CONSUMER PROTECTION DIVISION". ILLEGAL  AND SCAM TELEMARKETING HAS BECOME A MAJOR PROBLEM IN THE US SINCE THE RECESSION WORSEN.

I AM VOLUNTEER CONSUMER PROTECTION DIVISION AGENT FOR THE STATE OF MARYLAND ATTORNEY GENERAL'S CONSUMER PROTECTION DIVISION. I HAVE BEEN VOLUNTEERING SINCE 2004. I ASSIST THE CITIZENS OF MARYLAND WITH COMPLAINTS ABOUT SCAMS, FRAUD, AND ILLEGAL TELEMARKETING.

IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO RETAIN RECORDS ABOUT ANY COMPLAINTS. IF YOU THINK THE PHONE CALL IS ILLEGAL CONTACT THE FTC. DO IT NOW!

Two weeks ago my husband got caught up in the iWealth investments company and they got $250 out of him.  I did some investigation on it and than requested the money back.  We received a form and somehow my husbands initials and name are on it.  The writing is fairly close but not his.  My question is how did they come up with with signiture?  I am sure we aren't getting the money back.  They claimed that he OKed a return of $221.20 out of the $250.  Be very careful.    On the so called contract there are two other numbers
P: 602-759-7912 and F: 602-354-3210  I have not idea what the P and the F stand for BUT this is a DC number and they claimed to be with the Consumers Organization.  BS

Correction:  the 602 number I wrote above isn't a DC # it is a Phoenix #.  I am not saying all calls from businesses in the Phoenix area are bad but boy a lot sure are.  Believe me I have learned the hard way and my husband keeps falling for them.  A lot of $ has be lost over the years.  I now have power of Attorney.

Rules for handling these scam calls:

    1. Don't answer if you don't recognize the number (your parents taught you not to speak to strangers, right?). You won't hurt their feelings – they have no feelings; they just want your money, credit cards, personal info.  In other words they want to ruin your life.
    2. Don't call them back - don't assume they'll put you on their "do not call" list. They won't even if they say they will.
    3. Don't complain about the number of times they call if you don't use your own (your service's) Block Caller list.
    4. Be proactive and responsible by using your own protection. Assume nothing.
    5. Get on your phone service's Blocked Caller list - if they don't have one, get one that does. If there's a fee, it's still worth using it for your peace of mind.
    6. Don't think the government's Do Not Call list is going to handle it - they won't.
    7. Google the number.
    8. Add the number to your personal Block Caller list.
    9. Get on with your life – you don't need to answer every phone call.

Thanks for the information. I kept getting phone calls from 4 different numbers 8-9 times a day. I registered my phone number in the FTC, hopefully they'll stop calling me. Thanks again, your post was very helpful.

If answered, no one replies, so why bother calling? I have an older caller i.d., and under the number is the words "800 service", and further in the list, it appears again with "V90411111300008". Maybe those things will help someone shut them down. My husband says he'll get his mega-decible rescue whistle ( can be heard from under lots of snow, water, debris, and a good mile or more in all directions)and blow it into the receiver in case there's a live person not responding; the racket should convince them not to use our number anymore!

This number seems to be tied to another number 480-409-4352... have filed FCC complaints for harassment to both numbers, but in the short term you can go to your carrier (at least with Verizon and ATT)  and block the numbers. Both are a scam apparently out of AZ

I wealth is the caller and they want $200 for a business opportunity of which I will never know because I do not have $200 to "invest". I would not give these people money even if I had it because of the way they are conducting themselves. Nothing like a legitimate business.

Received several calls from this number--did not answer, as I no longer answer ANY number I don't recognize. There are way too many scams going on now, and somebody needs to figure out how to stop the harrassment and the robocalls.

I have tried filing complaints with the FTC and FCC and am always told that you have to re-add cell phone numbers to the Do Not Call list every 3 months and if you answer you're stuck.  I have several job applications out there and have to answer unfamiliar numbers in case it's about a job.  The FCC told me I have to file a claim with the state Attorney General on my dime for anything to be done.  Or pay to add a new line to my family plan since Sprint doesn't allow you to change your number without adding a line and because I use this number on all my job applications.  I just deal; guess it's worth it if I get the money from filling out the offers through various pin-me, pay-me sites.
