Received a text from bank-mobile-alert-238@service.com   stating my visa was temporary locked this number  (Call: 888.279.9742  Now-238#) VISA-Card-temporarily-locked-ID:f7sOwvaY  last time I called the number on the back of my CC who said everything was fine.

same scam query on phone TEXT regarding my Visa card received on Friday, indicating account blocked, etc. and requesting callback to 888-279-9742. Interesting, as just received card, but these boys already looked to have hacker VISA number access. DO NOT call them back/DO NOT provide any account info,l

I received the same message (except they used 237 instead of 238) and thought it sounded like a scam. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Stated this was in regard to fraudulent use of my Visa card.  Follow-up with my credit card company determined this was a scam

Got the text as well on 8/16/2022  with phone number and using 373 a code . Yeah I don't think so number is blocked

Had the same experience with a scam text bank-mobile-alert-238@service.com   stating my visa was temporary locked this number  (Call: 888.279.9742  Now-738#) don't even have a Visa and the card I do have has no issues.

Reported Visa card was temporarily locked. I will block the number after reading these comments. Thank you!

I got this text as well. It actually had the name of my bank on it and saying my card had been temporally locked. I called my bank's customer service but it was closed and I had to leave a message.

Thanks so much! Texted me saying my visa was locked and to call them.

I receive a text message saying that my Visa was blocked temporarily. There one big problem with that I don't have a Visa only a Mastercard obviously a scam!

Just got a call that my Visa was locked.

Got the same text just now! Told them thank you and keep up the good work! LOL!

You do understand that by replying to them you are giving them more information to scam you with don't you?

Unwanted Text Messages

Forward unwanted text messages to 7726 so that carriers will block them. Some carriers do not accept that code and if that is the case then contact your carrier about how to block unwanted text messages, however 7726 is accepted in the US, Canada, and Great Britain. Also, never, ever click on a link in a text message as it will probably install something nasty to your phone that you really will not want to deal with and never, ever respond to one because lets them know that they have a good number with someone on the other end.  It will result in more calls and texts.

This appeared to be a scam to me I called my credit card company and they said my card is not locked everything is fine that was a scam

Texted me that my card was locked. Seemed fishy. First thing they wanted to know was my card number.  I Hung up immediately.
