- Dena Fitzpatrick| 2 repliesI received a call from a lady with the number +1 (541) 645-6132 telling me I have some documents that need to be signed for and asked if I would be home between 8-10am tomorrow morning. When I told her I would not she told me I would need to call courier at 1-888-281-4310 to reschedule. I for a fact know I have no documents being sent so I did not call. Instead I looked up the number and here I am. Name below is what showed up on my caller ID.

- Kat* replies to Anna torgerson| 4 repliesAs long as you didn't give them a method of payment, such as a credit card or checking account number, you haven't actually been scammed. They've ATTEMPTED to scam you but again, if you didn't pay them, you weren't scammed. If you DID give them your credit card or checking account number, report the fruadulent transaction and cancel the account IMMEDIATELY!
Any time someone calls you claiming you owe them money, tell them to follow the law by MAILING you proof of the debt along with proof they're legally entitled to collect said debt. Refusal to do so - for ANY reason - confirms the scam. REAL debt collectors know phone calls, faxes, texts, and emails are not legal methods of debt validation. - Anna torgerson| 2 repliesThank you so much for getting back to me he did call me two more times from a different number his name is Timothy Riley he said he works for VSG Incorporated but he also said in one of his messages that he left me that he works for VSG he said he was leaving at 3:00 today and I had till 3:00 to to make a payment otherwise he was going to take legal action I did not answer his phone calls he called once at 2:20 left a voicemail with his name of Timothy Riley he then called again at 2:35 and at 2:45 but did not leave a voicemail he does have my first name and last name my birthday and my social security number he also sent me an email saying I need you to sign these documents by a DocuSign I did not sign them and I did not answer his calls he said he sent out paperwork 45 days and I never received he gave me two addresses he said that you have lived at these addresses I've never even heard of them before I have blocked him on all calls I believe if I was to sign those documents that's the last thing he needs is my signature and then he'd be able to steal my identity. Please tell me if there's anything else I can do to get this Timothy Riley out of my life he says he works for a bank and that I owed this money in 2014 and they're trying to collect it now. He also called me from a different number and the number that he called me from belongs to somebody else.

- MikeHuntleton replies to Anna torgerson| 1 replyI hope you realize this is a phone number look up site and your best bet would be to seek an Attorney if you want legal advice. Best advice anyone here can give you is don't sign anything you are not 100% sure about and certainly don't give any money to a stranger just because they claim you owe.
A sure sign of a debt collection scam is a collector that wants to you to pay via wire transfer or another method that can't be traced. If the payment method can't be traced, you'll have a harder time getting the authorities involved.
If the creditor sounds completely foreign, or you know you never had an account with that business, there's a chance it's a scam. Never pay a collection you don't recognize. You have the right to request written proof of the debt from the debt collector before you send payment.

•A company works with you, not against you. - Anna torgerson replies to MikeHuntletonThank you I do appreciate all the information you given me it does sound to me like it is a scam though I did call the bank that he was from there is nobody that works there the bank where he claimed he's from in safford Arizona there is no Bank by the name that he gave me in safford Arizona he's a scam and the number that he called me from is the same number that's called a lot of people on this site thank you so much for your time.
- Tygerkat replies to Anna torgersonIf you owed a bank in 2014 they wouldn't wait 9 years to try collecting.
- KyleThese scammers have targeted me several times over the course of two years. The disconcerting part is during the last two episodes they called my neighbors and my office the same day they called me. The calls to me go straight to my spam filter so I never actually talked to them directly except when they called my office. The company name varies, phone numbers are never the same but they appear to be trying to embarrass me into calling them by calling my neighbors.

- Letta replies to Anna torgersonThese people are scaring people into paying them money. As everyone has stated on this site: DO NOT ANSWER THEIR CALLS OR GIVE THEM ANYTHING. I would do what the person before told you to do, shut down all your credit cards, bank accounts, and talk to a lawyer because since they have all of your information, identify theft is a difficult hole to get out of. I'll be praying for you that all is well. Contact your state's Attorney General's office too!
- jhon replies to Anna torgersongosh this guy is a scammer huh he been calling me for days and that i will sued if i dont contact them for amount of 34 hundred from buckles i am like i never used a buckle account
