called me saying  that i owe a sprint phone bill

They called me saying that it was in reference to a complaint of debt filed against me. Also, that I should be prepared with my identification to accept my papers from UPS.

I am pretty sure legal documents cannot be served by UPS.

I've ignored these calls since they started about 3 days ago. So far I've gotten the same response as everyone else that has had them call.

I should have valid ID in order to accept a complaint.Or call them ...LOL.

I've been getting calls saying my 84 year old mother has a legal claim against her and my number was down as point of contact. This is a scam and they are trying to take advantage of the elderly.

Called saying that there has been a complaint filed against me. That I needed to have proper identification.

Yup they are a scam!  called me stating i owe a $900+ AT&T bill!  i just got off the phone with att and confirmed that i have no outstanding balance with them and that nothing was sent to collections.  the att rep even told me had something been outstanding with them they would have me and not wait 2 years to call me!  needless to say i was put at ease by calling att.  should anyone else get this call DO NOT PAY THEM THEY ARE A SCAM!

Received a call from (919) 336-0002 it was a recording That a complaint was filed against me that I would need proper ID to receive legal documents when delivered to me if I wanted any information about the complaint to contact 888-281-7544 I called it was SCG consulting I was asked to hold left on hold for about fifteen minutes and I hung up.

Twice recently I've gotten calls from PROGRESSIVE FINANCE DEBT COLLECT SCAMMERS.
I blocked their number months ago after over a dozen calls. They call from 888-441-5024.
Within 10 minutes  I get  calls from 919-336-0001 and/or 919-336-0002. They say they've got legal documents/complaint filed against me etc., same old stupid speal. Says call 888-281-7544.
I don't have past due debt nor any reason to call some threatening caller that now insists I must return their call. If they really thought I owed a debt they would send a letter.
My phone log shows I've also blocked 919-336-0005 and 919-336-0008 where they said 'our lawyers are preparing court papers'.  (Haha.... so what? That's what lawyers do if they have a job).
My phone log shows where I've blocked more that 300 callers and when they do leave a message it's for somebody I've never heard of so I block them and write them off as a SCAM. FYI, the above numbers have never said my name on their messages so I know they're just Phishing! Blockem!

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.

I've been harassed by these people for months now. I block them and they just start calling from different numbers. They keep claiming complaints have been filed against me & I need to call back immediately and so on. This call from today the guy left his name, well it's probably not his real name but he said it's "Clarence Sims" with the "United Processing Service". I wish they'd go away. How sad people have to try to prey on and con other hard working people because they're too lazy to get a job. 😡

I got the same message.  I've gotten it twice, only no one ever delivers my papers.

What a bunch of [***]!!!!!My daughter keeps getting calls from this a$$ faced #!!! Every day..several times a day. Quite frankly I'm getting quite pissed!!!

I get calls from a male voice saying to be ready with I.D.  as there will be a delivery at my door ...of some sort of billing ...I cant make it out   But I dont owe a bill collector ...they leave a message   ...
