Presently, I have not received a call, but I think that's because I seldom answer my home phone; however, I did receiver a letter in the mail from a "company" using this same number.  Letter reads:

**Important Payment Update**

Call 1-888-281-7638 regarding important updated payment information about your (Mortgage Amount) loan with (Lender Name).

Per DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS VA Form 26-1880 eligibility, your loan has been flagged for this program and NOTIFICATION is being sent on April 25, 2014.  You will have a new lower monthly principal and interest payment of (substantially lower amount) beginning July 1, 21014 under program specifications.

This letter goes on to insist that I only have 5 days to process my information through them, and while this "company" attempts to sound official, nowhere in this letter have they even hinted what the company's name is...only their number.  Again, while I did not receive a phone call, this is a classic case of phishing.

i also recieved this letter, twice. Same status to call 866-493-2319 for a lower rate. Looks official but appears to be a fishing scheme.

I have received this letter a few times. There is no company logo on it the envelop or a return address. The letter itself also has no company name or logo. I called the number to see what it says. Rings a few times and then proceeds to say that all calls are recorded for training purposes. A girl answered and didn't mention her company name, just wanted to know the pin code from the letter. I hung up on her.

I have received a letter from these people as well, it says I owe over 19,000 dollars for a unsecured loan, I have no idea what they are talking about I have no such loan,nor have they called me, I am putting in the number that they want me to call.

I have received those letters as well.  That is not what it says if you carefully read the whole thing.
