- Todd| 1 replyHad a voice message on work phone, very fast talker, said from BC Services I think, and calling about debt and said to call them back, didn't note number. Just deleted message as junk/scam. Then I got the number from call log and looked it up to get here. I also looked up the company and found them and including a link to BBB. There were 23 complaints and company responded to every one. All the issues dealt with outstanding medical related debts. So it is a real collection company, apparently dealing in medical related debt.

Which means nothing other than they get to keep that A+ rating. That's how the ratings are given in case you did not know. Doesn't matter if the problem is resolved, just that they replied (good faith effort). I also read the reviews. The first one tells a story of how they illegally refused to talk to the woman's attorney even though the law requires it. Your rah-rah post of how "legitimate" this criminal enterprise out of Colorado is will be shot down when I start posting all about it. Maybe time to look for a new job because I bet your bosses at BC Services are not going to be happy.Quote:There were 23 complaints and company responded to every one. - Jennifer MartinezGot a call from this company. Went to voice mail with a VERY soft spoken man saying something I'm not sure and couldn't understand. From what I can understand just saying debt services and call them back. No other info. Kinda sus to me.

- Clouds strifes wifeyGot a call labeled suspected spam. Let it go to voice-mail. I checked the messages, they said it was BC Services and to give them a call back. I call BC Services a lot for work and they're a debt collector for medical debt. I don't have any outstanding medical debt tho.

- BigAYou will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Colorado requires debt collectors to be licensed but doesn’t seem to publish the list anymore.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified. If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
