    Nobody's Fool
Decided to answer and waste their time. Indian sounding woman who could barely speak English named "Sarah" calling from "The Windows Certified Technical Department" because "We're getting continuous error and warning messages from your computer license ID whenever you check e-mail, browse the internet, play games, or visit any site because an infection of a malicious virus is uploaded, do you understand? Are you the owner of this computer?" I said, I am."  She told me to get a piece of paper and I needed to be be in front of my computer. I pretended to but only got pen and paper to write down the scam code. She instructed me through keyboard sequences which I pretended to follow. She asked, "What do you see on your screen, Ma'am?" I said, "I see you're trying to scam me because this was just on the news!" You'd think she would've hung up but she got even more persistent saying, "Ma'am, I have your CL ID of your computer. If you want I can provide it to you and you can match it to your computer and decide if it belongs to you or not. If not you can hang up your phone, okay?"  I told her to go ahead and give it to me. I wrote it down and she asked me to repeat it back to her. I did. She said, Absolutely correct! This is your computer license security number which is your unique security ID. Don't share this ID with anyone. Now you need to match this license inside your computer. Do you know where it's located?" I said, "No I don't." She proceeded to tell me to press the same keys she tried to get me to press in the beginning (the "Windows" key and "r" key at the same time) to make me think I'm locating my license number! She asked, "What do you see on your screen now, Ma'am?" I asked,  "What company is this, again?" She said, "Windows. We are from Windows Certified Technical Department and you are talking to a certified Microsoft engineer. You are a registered customer of Microsoft so that's why we are making you aware because it's our responsibility. I asked, "So what's the number if I needed to contact you?" She said, 347-876-6676. Now press the "Windows" key with one finger and don't let go, then the letter "r" like "Romeo" and then release both fingers. Can you match the license ID Ma'am? It will just open a box. Now what do you see on your screen?" I said, I see you're still trying to scam me!" There was a pause and then she had the nerve to quickly say, "Tech going down." Then she hung up, lol!

So satisfying to have them think they've hit the jackpot and then pull the rug out!
