Is this a real collection agency or law practice of some sort?

Gentleman left message saying "This is Mr. Hanson from ARG, some documents were forwarded to me today & unfortunately you are named as the respondent and I will need a phone call back today for a statement."  I didn't return the call, did some research and found that they are Asset Recovery Group, a sub-company of DJB Communications...apparently there is a class action lawsuit against them because they are "phishers" and scammers.

I had a message from an Alan King saying he was an attorney and that I had a debt that needed to be settled and to return his call.  I called him back and he said I had not paid a $613 debt from 1999.  He could not give me any information on the company I had supposedly borrowed from and couldn't give me any details.  He said if I gave him my account number and settled now, there wouldn't be a lawsuit against me - which he would sue for $6,000.  I would not give him my account number, so he said he would send FedEx to my house tomorrow to send a check to them, postdated when the amount could be taken out of my account.  I told him not to call me back, send any paperwork to me and I would give it to my attorney, or he could go ahead and sue.  I want to know where this company got all my personal information?  I have an unlisted number and address.  He also had my social security number.  I'm also wondering if I have a case of identity theft that I need to report.

After some searching I found these guys address. They call on out of statute of limitation debt that they cannot sue on. By threatening to sue you, they are breaking federal law. Send them a cease & desist letter and if they continue to call, file a police report for harrasment. Check out www.creditboards.com

I did not take the call, a friend did. The call was from a special Investigator named Alan King regarding a lawsuit against me and suggesting that I contact an attorney. I got this note today so I haven't done anything yet, and I probably won't.

caller called & left a message for another individual referencing a case number involving me.  Represented himself as Robert Goldstein from EFG Group & that we should call back and provide proper social security # or government ID.  I did not call back.

got a call from a mr. mc neil stating to call him back it was urgent, did not call back looked up phone number , its another scam in trying to collect a old debt so they say we all no who and what we owe , so pay what you ow to whom you oe dont fall for these scams i wish some one could stop these calls turn them into the fta and state attorney general  you can do it on line take the time and help out.

They are a collection agency that breaks every law there is.  They are not licenced to collect debt in any state.  If they call you, get your attorney and sue them.  They have no ground to fight the suit as they are not licenced.

got a call at my private work number and my co-worker answered my phone line for me the person's name is Donyetta and the message left to call back this is urgent @ 888-288-3114 x112 with a case number never left the name of the company.  When I blocked my number and called they answer the phone with a name and no company name the person's name was Mr. Hanson.

The real company you are looking for is operated by a Frank and Diane Falzone Law LLC and Associates. Don't worry! They are scam artist out of Albany, NY. Their home address is: Frank S. Falzone or Diane P. Falzone, 60 Manchester Place, Buffalo, NY 14213. Home phone number is: 1-716-884-4678. They also go by ARG-ASSET RECOVERY GROUP-GOOD FRIENDS TO FRANK AND DIANE. They also use a female caller-Frank's crack-head girl-friend, who goes by Tiffany Hale. You need to jump on the band wagon and report them to BBB and to the NY State Attorney General's Office. When you read more on the internet using Google and searching, you will find this company and some smaller ones-Frank's stooges, use the following numbers to harass
NY STATE(AMERICAN) CONSUMERS. These people will threaten to put you in jail, take away your home, garnish your wages, steal your first born, and so on..Please join the complaint line against these fraudulent criminals

Maggie, my family and I have also reported them to the BBB and NY State Attorney General's Office!! Don't give up!! We will get them!!

Second phone call in 2 weeks, this time from a woman named "Danielle" stating I was named as a respondent in a case filed with her office. Came up as blocked call on caller id. She said she was calling "on behalf of Fidelis" last time they said U.S. Fidelis Group. Left her number 1-888-288-3114x180 said her "reference number" was 7168364400 that was also a phone number I looked up and apparently they are ARG a collection agency. Can't wait to hear who they say they are next time they call!

Called my employment my manager answered the phone and left name of person Shovell Peirce to call back @ 1-888-288-3114 and they never left any other info. Never return the call...

These people will not stop calling or texting and harrassing me threatening me about legal action. Irs, blocking
