Call themselves "Performance".   Won't listen to your call unless you give them a case number or a SSN.  Total scam artists.

I got a message AT WORK the same # 888-310-2006 and that Chris Short called.
This was 01/28/2015 around 4:55 pm. I’m glad I checked out this # before calling. WOW !

Just received a call from 615-340-6009 which is a local number to the area but the online presence seems to be manufactured to look like a local business.  They said the name of the company is Performance and were fishing for private information and the caller became extremely rude when questioned why they were seeking this information.  Do not give these people any information and report them as soon as possible.

I just received a call from 256-349-3042- showed up as Alabama- but they left a message for me to call them at 888-310-2006 ext 3689 Marvin Wells. I am at work so I called the number back- a recording told me to dial the ext so I did another recording asked me to put in my SS# - Performance is the company name given - I hung up.

Called from this number today looking for my son, wanted his phone number said it wasn't for money owed but a business matter. He is disabled and can't talk or move without help so I know there is no way he called them, total scam.

Kerri Creal called for my husband from a local number (985)718-3100.  She said it concerned a personal business matter and that she could call back later.  I asked her if this was telemarketing or a legit call she insisted it was legit.  I told her she could leave a call back number.  The number she gave was 1-888-310-2006 and the company name is Performance.  I have no idea what she wanted because she wouldn't tell me, but from reading the other comments, I won't be answering this number anymore.  Thanks to everyone who posted.

This is a legit company collecting on behalf of the Treasury Dept. and possibly other agencies as well. Your husband should call the Treasury(where I got this info validated) and see if he has a debt either tax or non-tax related. It's the government so even if you were paid in full like I was(they held my tax refund), they can't get their act together and credit their own accounts in a timely manner so they send you to collections. Call them so they don't withhold wages or something like that.

Since you know so much about them, how about sharing ALL their information with us?  What is their

• Legal address (no box numbers)
• Website
• BBB page (if any)

Also, in what states are they licensed as debt collectors?

Oh ... in case you did not notice ... the IRS / Treasury Dept does not hire debt collectors!
