- EWillCall appeared to come from a local number. Female with a strong non-American accent, on a line that kept braking up said she was calling from SDS (I think) about some papers that were being sent to me about something filed against me. I told her she was really braking up, then I hung up. She called right back. I didn't answer so she left voicemail telling me to call 888-311-7427 and reference account number 515 dash blah blah blah.
Maybe the "company" is SBS, which might stand for "Such BS"- Caller: SDS?

- BigA replies to B| 1 replyThe FCC has no jurisdiction over debt collection calls. It is a simple matter to find out what Federal and State Agencies do have jurisdiction. You should learn how to properly use a search engine to get the results that you need instead of simply assuming.

Case number?
First I received 3 back to back calls from 3 different numbers then I called the number since the girl who left me a voicemail was international I could barely understand her. I called the number and a guy picked up with a lot of background noise and saying my name and that someone is suing me then he said my date of birth and asked me to confirm when I asked if he was a lawyer he hung up the phone on me. I googled the phone number and if it was a legitimate business debt collection on federal/government agency it would be registed. It is not. I will look into my credit and request a lock on my social because someone might have stolen my information. If there is a case against you I believe they will serve you I'm person or by phone by property identifying themselves and or ask for a legal notice to be sent to the address they have on file. Do not give them your address... but I hope this stops because it really got me worried.- Caller: Oak hill management

- Amber replies to Joanne Rooney| 2 repliesThey are calling me too. Did you find out anything?
- BigA replies to Amber| 1 replyThe fake process server/location specialist scam usually contains:
They mention that they have received a Fax document or some sort of complaint and that there is a pending legal matter or action about to filed against you to create the sense of urgency. They tell you that they are a “process server” and cannot give you the particulars of the case since the file is sealed. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (often with a made-up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer). They threaten to serve you at home or at work. They tell you that if they serve you at work they need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work. They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID. None of which is true. Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them. Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else. They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”. Court documents are time sensitive and have to be served within a certain amount of time. Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there is actually a lawsuit that has been filed against you.
It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter, email, or text (postmarked in the case of a letter) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. Unless they have communicated it to you verbally at the beginning of your conversation. It also must contain the “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this communication must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified. If and when you get that communication you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

- Mark Taylor| 1 replyI received 2 calls I called back with a case number . They stated I owe thousands of dollars for a credit card account from 2006 from a bank that no longer exists!! I hung up on him. I’m checking in to this with my present bank and anyone else that I can contact!! This is 18 years old and I had never received any mail or anything from this bank about having a late payment or anything! I don’t think they are really who they say they are! Need to find out in case my social is at risk

- APSVS rep called from a local number with very broken english. Other times they call, they dont say anything. Said the same about a legal matter and court filing. I needed to contact 888.311.7427 to verify my documents. Also called multiple family members looking for me. Female caller actually argued with my husband. Said they have my address, but refuse to send any documents. Nice attempt. Not falling for it.

- CandiceReceived very rude phone calls from a woman who, when I refused to acknowledge who I was, began screaming at me that she would notify "them" that I was refusing to receive legal documents and hung up on me. I called the number back but was directed to call 888-311-7427. A man told me I was being sued for "defrauding a financial institution" in 2018, for some kind and of personal or payday loan that I never took out. This account is nowhere on my credit history (I've used a credit monitoring service daily for the past 8 years), and the information they claimed I used to open this account was more than 5 years old back in 2018. I was informed that it had to be mine because it was disbursed to a bank account. I knew I had no bank account at that time, so inquired about what bank it was. I was told that "he couldn't see what bank it was", and he offered to email me all of the information. He never did. I was told that if I didn't pay the $2400, I would be sued in court and ordered to pay "more than $4000" and my wages would be garnished. I told him I had been in disability for ten years and had no wages to garnish. My mother and grandma both got calls later that day.

STOP2END - I did just that. - ShellyI received a text message from (361) 226-8061, that said "Neveu, Shelly to prevent escalation regarding my file #######, to contact the issuing agent at 888-311-7427 regarding verification. Verification services on behalf of Oak Hill. Stop2End".
"Neveu" is nephew in French....which doesn't add up.
I was utterly confused, having never heard of Oak Hill and looked up the number which led me here. Glad I did. I have since reported it as spam and blocked them. If it was legitimate, I'd have received some type of certified mail.- Caller: Oak Hill
