- Tom| 2 repliesSomeone called claiming its NSI
Didn't ask for anyone, left message and text
Seems like a scam- Caller: NSI
- Nicole Preston| 1 replyThey call saying they are from NSI. "They are collecting a debt." BUT they have never mailed anything. They call/text and now they have called one of my family members. Seems like a scare tactic and a scam! They also told me family member Inland Group has a 'pending civil law suit" against me but when I search the public database in my state nothing pops up under my name, birth date, or this Inland Group in general. I think they tried to scam the wrong person

- MCThird time these people have tried to scam me. They have just enough information about you to seem semi-legit. They have threatened that I am "under investigation" and that I have to call another # and give them a file number. If you call the other number, they want you to wire them a certain amount of money TODAY in order to prevent further legal action and having to pay a minimum of thousands of dollars in court costs. I've called the company they say I owe and they have NO record of me owing them anything. I also called the sherrif's department to ask if they had any process servers looking for me and they do not. THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT SEND THEM ANYTHING OR GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION ABOUT YOURSELF! Report them to your state attorney general's office.

- Lisa replies to Tom| 1 replyI have been getting calls from these numbers for 2yrs now. I blocked them and now everything goes to voicemail. Each time it is the "Last Time" they will reach out to me. When I first got the call the number went to some law firm in TX and when I called I was on hold for nearly an hour as they "looked form my case file" I stayed on the phone cause I wanted to see what would happen. I thought maybe they were trying to hack into my phone, but I also did research while waiting. I contacted the local court house and they said if ANY kind of suit or claim is filed against you that it first has to be filed with the court system and you can look the info up at anytime. On a few occasions I have spoke with the person and told them where to go and how to get there with very colorful language. :) I have even been told that they would be delivering me the documents, which never came. Now when I want to have some fun I answer and call their bluff.
- Tom replies to LisaThey just called again since their number is private or unknown it goes directly to voice mail. Thanks for your feedback
- Nicole| 5 repliesI just now received a call from this number asking for a completely different name. I always let “unknown” calls go straight to voicemail. Some guy named Michael Harris from NSI left a threat , gave a “ case” number and a phone number to call. I don’t waste my time on scammers let alone ones that are looking for someone else completely. He can go F himself. If he calls again, maybe I’ll take a minute of my time and will tear him a new hole. Might be fun considering not alot to do right now in quarantine.

- JcSo I've gotten three calls from a Marie Smith threatening me that I'm gonna be arrested because they have a legal case against me. I've never been in trouble so it threw me off at first but then I realized she was calling me by my middle name not my first, which she didn't know that. So I know definitely that this is a scare tactic scam. Screw them!
- Caller: claiming to be NSI
- Bill Jenkins replies to Nicole| 4 repliesNot a scam! I'm glad they called me. Because of them I cleared my old debt and my credit is back in track. Pay your debts people and make America Great again by minimizing the Nations Debt deficit. You are the real scammers and the country pays for it! Debt beats!
- MarIF these people are debt collectors, they need to identify their call as such. They called me today about a former relative, and I thought they were from Homeland Security's NSI unit (yep, that's a thing= Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Initiative (NSI)). Fortunately, I don't answer unknown numbers so they left me a somewhat ominous message, and I was able to research and see everything here. **Because they are deceitful in how they present themselves, they ARE scammers, if they are in fact debt collectors.**
- Jan replies to Nicole PrestonMy daughter got the same call last week. The lady has been calling my daughter at work (which I didn't give the number) many times threatening to call the police and deliver paperwork. Someone stole my daughter's purse 15 or 16 years ago. The bank changed her account and told her not to worry about it. This had happened 15 or 16 or more years ago. It is a scam. NSI has many companies and I didn't see one that was bill collecting of 20 year old bills. This is a scam!

- Tygerkat replies to Jan| 1 replyHow did they know the exact amount? Um, because most people are getting the same amount, of course.
- Tygerkat replies to Bill JenkinsLooks like we missed a shill a few weeks ago. A shill that was so glad this scammer called him that he looked up the phone number but failed to give any actual information on the caller. Typical.
- Jan replies to TygerkatForgive me as I haven't been paying attention. Just don't get retired as it's not good for anyone!
