Not sure of the originating number; this is the number the caller gave as a callback number.  I *think* the company's name was given as My Instant Support, but the caller's accent was so think I couldn't be sure, even after repetition.  She gave her name as "Lisa Allen".  That was so obviously false I asked for her real name was, to which she (reasonably) said she would not give out her personal information.  She also claimed she was calling from Salt Lake City.  If so, the other callers working with her also were non-native speakers of English.

The purpose of the call was to do a check-up of the user's Windows operating system. (The person the caller asked for uses a Mac, so they got her name from some other source.)  Although I have no direct evidence to support my suspicions, I suspect this may be a scam.

Don't give strangers access to your computer, no matter who they claim to be.  If you haven't sought them out, you don't want them.

Update: Investigating further, I tried calling back the number given.  The number is not currently in service.

Minor possible correction:  I think she may actually have given the city as Grand Rapids.  Sorry for the memory lapse.  Either way, the backgound sounded more like an overseas call center.

The only company I find with a similar name is MyInstantSupport.com out of Calcutta.  That website gives the impression it is a legitimate company.  *shrug*  In short, I don't know who really called or where they're really from, but they're probably not legitimate.

Again: Beware unsolicited offers of help, whether from someone claiming to be from Microsoft or from someplace you've never heard of.  One current scam is to get you to allow remote access to your computer, then make malicious changes.  To paraphrase, Just Say No to Scams.

You shouldn't write anything wrong about any company without knowing anything .This is a punishable offense.

Beware of this scam company. They are based in India and scamming people in US and UK.

These sucker will call you & will take the access of your computer through Log me in & then they will open up the form which is of Xoom Money Transfer. And then they will charge you as per their wish. Do not give access to these sucker. They will suck all your hard earned money.

I am posting a second message. Although the number I have for this company is not what I am seeing on here...it is the same company.
I finally got through to someone and it took them a couple of hours, but my computer is working very well again.
I got fearful when I wrote my last post after not getting an answer at tech support, then reading all the posts here that say that this is a scam.......I WAS WRONG.
The money I paid was well worth the service I have received.

So are we to take it this site is making it more difficult for you to trick victims on the phone, and you think ny maiking fake posts you can somehow mitigate the damage TRUTH is doing to your SCAM?

I'd say think again, but thinking is obviously not one of your strong points.

An expensive lesson!

This is a sure SCAM.

Received a call this morning from a guy saying that my Windows system was running slow, really how would he know that. Even if were true, which it wasn't you couldn't understand a word the guy said. After finally asking him to repeat his name about 6 times, I told him I will not turn my computer on and go to his website!!! I am on the Do Not Call Registry and not sure how I got this call but I'm getting really tired of people trying to scam money out of us!!!!  If you get a call from Myinstanetsupport, just hang up before you are spending money you can't afford!!!!!

I got a call from my instant support yesterday.  He also would not give me his name, but I did get a phone number out of him he said he called from 415-830-3699 but there is no answer when I call it. I also got him to confirm he was from India. I could barely understand him as English second language... or may be even third, who knows.  He continued to pressure me into giving him access to my computer saying that it was reported that I was infected by a virus. I told him I was a computer technician and my computer is not infected. He continued to insist I give him access until I told him I was on the national do not call registry and he hung up.  I prompt reported this company on the Do Not Call Registry website, but being a fourgne company, I am sure there is nothing that can be done...

Be aware and mindful of these companies and to not get scammed.

I got a call from them about 15 minutes ago, they said my computer was infected..not with a virus but from something else. When i asked they said that wiping the computer and virus software could not help, so i was skeptical and said i would call Microsoft (i can't get a hold of any operators currently) and ask if this was a company that was associated with them, as the clearly Indian duo had said.  I went to their website but did not do anything yet..my computer is running pretty well as it always had but they said that they were messaged that every time i go on i am getting more and more infections and it may cause my computer to stop working and they could not help me then.  From what i am reading this is a scam and i have never heard of this before, but i decided to google it and here i am..i am still skeptical but should i trust it?

I received a call from them yesterday. It is actually the second one I have got but with a different name. The first one the male caller was very pushy and asked why I didn't trust him and just turn on my computer. He wouldn't give me a phone number or web site name. I finally told him my brother was a FBI  agent and we would be finding out who he was and where he was calling from. There was a long pause and then he hung up. Todays call the female caller did give me a phone number and web site name. But still was pushing me to turn on my computer. And when I said I wasn't going to she hung up
Never give out information to any of these types of calls.

When they asked for the money then you released they are scam but till the time were not asking for money ! It was legitimate !

Leave the habit of getting things free of cost ............

I got a call from My Instant Support also, just out of the blue.  Couldn't make himself clear about why he was calling, but he wanted me to did into my computer logs.  I tried to be polite, but after getting nowhere for 10 minutes I hung up.

i got a call from www.support.me last night, at first i thought the call was from Microsoft. "Ron Wilson" told me about possible errors on my hard drive that could crash my hard drive. I was distracted by trying to understand Him and fearing for the safety of my computer I allowed them to get into my computer. I should have realized it was a scam after my credit card company wouldn't accept the charge, so I called them and told them it was a valid transtions. After hung up I got worried and started asking myselt a lot of questions i should have asked at the time, so i called my bank this morning to see if I could cancel the  transaction. At first i was told I would need to file a dispute claim but after I told them what transpired was told that was fraud. My account was closed and will be getting a new card and account number.
My $135.00 is still in my bank and not in India!

I can't belive I feel for their line and actually gave them control of my computer!
