    Just got the call!!  WATCH OUT!!! Massive scam.  Been around for years.  Even most of the employees making the calls have no idea they are conducting a scam.  Most don't even end up with paychecks at the end of the month.
    BE CAREFUL!!!

    A man named Mark called my work and threatened to serve some sort of papers to my work against my husband. He would not give any info other than a case and phone number. So I called the number and spoke with a Ray Miller. Said my husband owes money for 2008 and they have taken over the debt. I explained that I wasn't aware of this "Loan" and would like to see documentation either mailed or emailed. He refused, said "we don't do that". So I told him if I can't verify the "Loan" than we are not paying.

    1-888-321-5820. Received phone calls 4 days in a row and 3 of them were at my place of employment. All were harassing and threatening which unfortunately for them is against the law. The last call was very threatning. I am filing a formal complaint.

    Called looking for my stepdad asking for their personal information because there is legal action against him. It came from a local number in Wisconsin, but the 888 number was the return number they gave.

    Just received a call from someone looking for my son. Messenger left a somewhat threatening message, indicating that if I didn't get the message to him, my son would be 'served' at his place of employment.

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
    Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

    Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

    Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

    Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

    Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

    I have been getting harassing calls for the past 2 days and because I won't give them the time of day, they flippin found my family members and started calling them!!! I am very upset about this because they should not be allowed to harass me, but especially not my family. I got the call from a "Sandy Martin" phone number 314-985-3967, no company name or anything. All she told me about was a "claim number". Then she directed me to 1-888-321-5820. I know I do not owe any money to these people!!!

    I get called every day! Today someone called  and left a message when I didn't answer. He said he was Mike Pina and was calling about claim 165044. He gave 888 321 5820 as a call back number. I have not called the number. He mentions a "firm" but doesn't name one. These people called my mother and frightened her by saying they were going to have me arrested!!! If I can trace them, I will sue!!!!

    Just got a call from a guy claiming to be Nick Wade 570-338-7695 said he got papers at his office and that he was going to come to my place of employment to deliver and that I was third on the list if I do not call this number.  I need to call this number 888-321-5820 with a claim number they gave me to set up payment for a payday loan from 2006, that I do not remember.  I was talking to a co-worker and they discovered the scam.  Called the police and they told me to hang up the phone when they call.  Now they are calling me back asking for my home address and work address.  Thought they had all of that.

    Stop payments and close your accounts and open new ones. Do it NOW.
    You CANNOT be arred for debt or for not calling back for that matter.
    Go to ftc.gov and read the FDCPA and learn your rights.

    Received a call from a Jennifer Taylor at 215-734-1960 saying she had papers to serve and she is calling me at work. She stated she works alone but you can tell from the background its a call center of some sort, I tried calling back because the number she gave me for United Firm was incorrect...no answer. I have already contacted the FTC but its a headache dealing with these people because you cant track them.
