- Kelly| 3 repliesI received the same email with that phone # listed as well, except the price was $649.99. I scrolled down a little further and there was a 2nd email with a slightly different charge ($696.89), and with a different # - 888-643-1110. Both were also for black iPhones. Something I found funny was that both emails had authorized spelled "authorised"...

- Alice H Scheeler| 1 replyI got the same email with the same trans #8345ASD432, I called the paypal # of +1-888-306-1173 and a foreign person answered. He could barely speak English and could not tell me where he was from. The email quoted a charge of $649.99 and he quoted a different amount and said it would be removed and he would send me an email once it was removed.

- Alice H Scheeler replies to Alice H ScheelerMy email came from Phipps, Owen 20
- Anne replies to Al Starr| 4 repliesI received the same email today. I called the toll free number and talked with an Elsa Watson (or that's what she said her name is!). It didn't take long to realize they are scammers. They were going to 'refund' my account with $1,400 but I mistakenly typed $14,000. They hit the panic button. What a hoot! Nothing has been done to my accounts.
- Anne replies to Anne| 3 repliesAlso, the email appeared to have come from an Owen Phipps '20. In googling that name in Plano, TX he passed away in 2020.
- BigA replies to Anne| 2 repliesAnd I'm sure that was the only "Owen Phipps" in the whole world, right? https://www.facebook.com/public/Owen-Phipps
- Y Parker| 2 repliesI had the same experience. When I call them they said that I had to fill out a cancellation form that they are installing. It took almost 15 minutes using my computer they claimed that it was a form necessary for me to fill out. Then a guy names Martin Davis who gave me his personal cell phone number 669-256-3434, would call me when all done, etc. He also said that coinbase charged me over $2,000 on my business credit card, etc. I'm wondering what they did while so called a form was installing over 15 minutes on my computer???? Email says: You authorized a payment of $649.99 USD to (sbick@verizon.net). ... If you havent made this purchase call PayPal immediately at 888-306-1173 to report and block this transaction.

- Y. Parker replies to Y Parker| 1 replyThey downloaded supportClient.exe and installed. I have no idea what it is and what it does. All they said was I need to install it to have a cancellation form to fill out. Then, they said that they would do it and would call me when done. I didn't do any forms. I hope they didn't stole my files from my computer while supportClient.exe was installed. What an idea I was.
- W Logan replies to AmandaI got the same thing today. Black iPhone 12 $649.99. And I called PayPal the disputed and they told me there was also an iPad today $699.99. Since I don't have any money in PayPal it doesn't matter in my bank said don't worry about it then
- cookie replies to DianeSame message received 9/1/21. I tried to contact Verizon online and by phone for almost an hour--customer service, fraud unit--couldn't get through to anyone. Should I delete this message from my computer or send a copy to my state's attorney general?
- pettypaceThe phone number on the email is not actually paypal. If you call that number you will be speaking to scammers pretending to be paypal. Definitely DO NOT load any software on your computer for them. Client.exe allows them to access everything on your computer including password manager, then they can get to your bank accounts and credit cards.
