DEFINITELY A SCAM!  Indian man that is trying to get information and or money from you!  Verified from American Express that they have no reason to be contacting me!  FAKE FAKE FAKE SCAM SCAM SCAM BLOCK!

Received a call from this number from an Indian lady. Telling me I’m on a recorded line. Asked for my name if I’m him. Than asked me for my last 4 social. When I asked what this was regarding, she said it’s business matters and she will need to verify it’s me with the last 4 ssn. I told her I’m not stupid that you can scam me like that. Told her not to call back and hanged up.

I got a text saying there is a problem with my Amex account, but I DON'T HAVE ONE!  The text said to call this number.  I'm glad I found this page with others describing it's a scam, because any time someone says your account has a problem, even if it doesn't make sense, you feel like you should call.

Didn't leave a message.  Blocked.

Indian sounding man would not verify who he was calling on behalf of, but wanted me to verify the last 4 of my SSN.  When I refused, he asked me for my birthdate.  When I refused again and asked him who he was calling from, he told me he needed to verify my identity before disclosing any information. I told him to kick rocks and hung up.

Fraud- Man with an Indian accent said they were from American Express.  Called back the actual American Express number from my card, they said they did NOT try to reach me.

I receive occasional calls from this number and they do not leave a message. Today, I answered and a gentleman with an Indian accent ask for a friend of mine. Must be a new spin on things. He would not leave any information so that I could leave a message and when I got firm with him he said he would take my name off the call list.

I have received numerous calls from this number over the past few months but have never answered as I can see it was coming from overseas. They are getting blocked!

Just called cell. Will block. Thanks everyone for posting so that we know who the scammers are.

Calls at 8am every day. Answered once “a small business matter”  wanted last 4 digits of SSN. Buh-bye I’m outta here. Do Not Answer.

It's a scam. Was told they were from American Express. Never had a AM card

Let's face it... If American Express wanted to be taken seriously from a collections department they wouldn't be using a call center staffed with people from India; I was born at night... just not LAST night...SCAM

The automated message from this number told me my SSN has been suspended for suspicious activity. Reported to oig.ssa.gov/report. A phone number to report this is 1-800-269-0271

Called, but left no message.

I hung up as soon as I heard his heavy Indian or Mexican/Spanish accent.

You only blocked that number. They will be calling.

Have had several calls to my mobile. Ignored initial calls. No messages left. Decided to answer most recent call. Male person, heavy accent, telling me call is being recorded, & asking for someone with difficult to pronounce name. Told them wrong number. They said my number would be removed from their list. May take a few days. Very strange call. Never identified themself. Blocked caller.

Caller  says he's from American Express and asks for a Walter Gardner.   Called the wrong number or was he
phishing?
