Utility scam, spoofed number

Tracing the number, it's attached to an organization called CapitolHillAdvocate, apparently associated with the Trump group.  Their website banner states "Tele-Charity Policing".  They should be ashamed, or arrested.  The Feds should round them up at 1300 Pennsylvania Ave. (website address).

Answered the phone, got heavy breathing.  No action though :(

Left a message, calling himself Mr. Waters, wanting to talk to me about "the supplier portion of my electricity bill". Didn't identify the company, so I'm thinking scam.

Same message as yours -- asked me to call back with my account number and my bill in front of me. I think not.

Message on my cell - says he is Mr. Mitchell calling in regards to the supply charges on my electric account.  Wanted me to call him back at 717-276-0015 with a copy of my statement with me to review my reduced supply cost.  Sounds way too sketchy.   I did not call.

Received the same exact message as Kayla. Agree that it doesn't sound legit. I didn't call back.

I also got a voice message from Mr. Waters.  Never addressed me by name.  Gave me a case number and said to call him at 267-310-3236.  I was suspicious but called anyway and kept getting a busy signal.  I will ignore this going forward.

Same with Mr. Mitchell and it is definitely a scam since I don't have an electric bill in MY name, but my mother's! Called my cell. It was pretty funny. Hi this is Mr. Mitchell and I am calling in regards to your electric bill, I see. Oh I'm sorry, please call me back with account number and your electric bill in front of you and then a number and reference #! Yeah ok Mr. Mitchell!!

Didn't answer, didn't leave VM, blocking number

Same exact message as Danielle with Mr. Mitchell- my electric co. would not be in the 717 area code anyway.

Recieved a sketchy call from a man calling himself "Mr. Mitchell" who wanted to talk to me about my electric bill's "reduced supply costs." All of my billing is online so this would not make sense. I did not call back and I am so happy that I looked at these posts!

I got this exact same message.

Received a call from a Mr. Waters.  Wanted to talk about the supply/supplier portion on my electric bill and asked to have my account information for the call back.  Even gave me a reference number.  Call seemed odd, so I decided to do some checking on the number and came across this page.  Suspicion confirmed.  Probably a scam.  Number has now been blocked.

Received a call from Mr. Waters on my work number.  Wanted to discuss my electric bill.  Scam, scam, scam!!!  Said to call him back at 267-310-3236 with Case #E-20189

Got the exact same message today, including the case number.  100% scam.

Mr. Waters gives me bad vibes. Sounds like a really poor scam artist. Completely unbelievable. He needs a day job.
