    Frustrated
In the last six weeks the "Autism Wings of Hope Charity" as they allegedly portray themselves have called me over 40 times, with this number and 888-330-4072 and about six other numbers. No one is ever on the line. They have complaints filed against them with BBB and they appear to be another "iffy" charity/protected non-profit in that almost all monies taken in go to operating expenses (such as hiring outfits like these phone bank operations) and generous salaries to themselves and any board members (who seem reluctant to be identified with this charity). Only a very tiny portion of any dollar donated can be shown to be of direct benefit to any needy beneficiary.

Guy, I think I read your post, maybe for a different number, a few months ago.  I was receiving 5-8 calls a day from unwanted numbers, about 3 of them were debt collectors. (Not my debt, I don't have any!).  But I subsequently purchased the Panasonic phone system myself.  It is quite possibly the best purchase I've made in a long time.  This really works!!!!!  Yes, you'll have to hear it ring once but if it does, you know you're receiving a blocked call and you don't have to run to pick up.  A huge blessing, I'm so glad I decided to purchase it!

I've also been getting disturbing DAILY calls from 888-330-4072.  I  NEVER answer but today I did call that number back.  Got a recorded message from the Autism Foundation.  The message directed me to press 1 for additional info.  I did.  Another recorded message popped up.  If I wanted to speak to a representative, call this number:  866-582-7634.  Soooooo, I called the 866 number and got a warm body on the phone.  Thankfully I was able to control my boiling point temper.  I told the rep that her company woke my wife up for the second time in as many days and asked if she could remove my number from her calling list.  She apologized several times for my inconvenience and said that she would in fact remove my number.  Will my phone call prove beneficial?   Wish me luck.

flojutt:  I got my panasconic at RadioShack, but also found them at Costco and Target!  Good Luck.  I just got another call from same people.  Yesterday they used a different number.  Just now blocked this number.  I must have at least 20 numbers blocked by now and I've had this new phone system for about a month.

By the way, this phone system can also block "Out of Area" calls and "Unavailable".  Sweet!

This and another 10 or so numbers are used by a 3rd party fund raiser for Autism. You need to call back each different number and use the automated system to get yourself out of their list.
The numbers I know for sure are theirs are:
    888-330-4072
    888-325-8583
    888-790-2523
    888-790-2747

    To get off their list:
    Call the 888 number
    Press 1
    Press 3
Enter the number that they are calling (your home number, starting with area code)
    Press 1 to confirm
    Hang up
    Repeat as needed
Note: Some cable phone service companies do not allow you to call the 790 exchange (888-790) and it looks like the phone is invalid or disconnected, I used my cell and go through without a problem. De-listed myself in all 4 numbers.

Thanks for info. They called me for the first time this morning at 8:30. Caller ID said "anonymous." They hung up after 4 rings, no message.

I have been getting bombarded by "Unavailable" calls lately.  This is just one of a wide variety of numbers.  This number appears to be one of the Wings of Hope/Autism fund raising groups.  I have no idea whether or not they are a legitimate charitable group.  However, according to Google, this and other Autism groups have called me repeatedly day after day in the last two or three weeks using these additional numbers:

    888-790-2773
    888-790-2770
    888-790-2523
    888-790-2547

Since all the other numbers were very similar, this one surprised me.  If they can afford to pay a telemarketer with such a wide range of different phone numbers, then I have to assume a very small percentage of donations is actually going to the cause.  And one of those numbers was listed as "Autism Awareness."  Well, just calling people and asking for money is raising "awareness" so I have to wonder if ANY donated money is actually going to help Autism research or anything else.

They aren't getting a dime from me.  They're not even going to get me to answer the phone.  I don't answer "unavailable" or "out-of-area" calls.

Here we go again...New number - same old idiocy. Autism when you dial the number. But could be a spam/phish. Never any real ID. No way to  know. I never ever answer these calls because they can identify themselves as anything and everything. Can't trust 'em!

I agree with Guy & Tim about the questionable practice of changing the numbers each day (or sometimes twice a day). I'm getting these repeated calls from these numbers, too & it always shows up as "Unavailable" on the caller ID. A legitimate organization should call ONCE, with an identifiable name on the caller ID. My husband and I have had our phone number for 12 years, and it's only in the past two years or so that these type of spoofed calls have started. And they can't be debt collectors, as we have no debt and are not in trouble of any kind.  I think they are scams, plain and simple.

    Not Answering
Have received numerous calls using 888-790-2773 and 888-330-4072.  These numbers have been identified on other blogs as Autism Foundation Wings of Hope Program.  If you research you will find that it has been identified as a SCAM.

Be advised that Wings of Hope and its parent organization, Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation, are not in any way related to the Autism Society.  Here is a link that you can check for yourself

    http://support.autism-society.org/site/Clubs?club_id=1217&sid=16435&pg=blog

    Hope this helps.

I have blocked these calls.  My system is set up so that my phone will NOT ring however messages will go to my recorder.  Obviously no messages left

The two numbers I have listed have called me all this week 4/23 right thru to this morning Sat 4/30.

    Good Luck Everyone

Rec'd a call today, Mother's Day.  I said hello and he asked for me by name.  When I said please remove me from your call list he asked me if I knew where he was calling from.  I said no.  He then said "in that case I will not remove me you from our call list, we will call again and hung up on me!" Sorry for the foundation but they will never get a penny from me now and I will be contacting them tomorrow.  So ticked!

I have a problem with any company that falsifies their caller ID.  This company uses many numbers with the caller ID of 800 service.  I hung up on the women who started her pitch about Autism.  If you lie with the caller ID how does anyone really know who is calling.

What I'd like to know is, did the de-listing work? Or did it just open up another can of worms?
