I just received a call from these scammers, and, while I am embarrassed to admit this, I did give them one of my credit card numbers. While waiting for a call back from one of their "supervisors" to supposedly confirm my request for a lower interest rate, I called my credit card company directly. While one hold with Chase, I got that call back. I requested that they hold, as I was on another call. The "supervisor" asked if I was on the phone with Chase. When I confirmed this, the "supervisor" hung up. I immediately asked Chase to cancel the number on my card, which they did.

Everyone would like to see their credit card interest rates be reduced, but if sounds too good to be true, unfortunately, it probably is!

I just got a call from 1-888-333-3857 group. First a voice comes on saying there is nothing wrong with your credit. They said they could reduce my credit card interest down to 6.9% as a courtesy. If you are interested press 1. The person then tells you your eligible for this because you have payed your cards on time for the past year.  They first ask what type of card, then the expiration date. They tell you the first 4 digits and ask you for the rest. I told him not until he told me what company he was representing. He kept insisting on the rest of the number so he could pull up my account. I told him with all this information he could take my card number and use it fraudulently. He said that he could not because of the security code on the back. I told him my phone battery was dying (actually, so I could check on the call) and could he call me back in an hour. He said he would, we will see, but now I am ready!

These guys called me today, twice, with the caller ID of 406-224-9002. I pressed 1 and was connected with one of their reps. The guy was very vague about who he worked for ("Credit Services, we work for Visa and Mastercard"). I asked if they had any information on a website that I could look at. He said they were a new company. When I interrupted his script to ask these questions, he had to start again from the beginning. He asked what the balance was on one of my cards, and when I told him he assumed it was maxed out, at which point he said I needed another card with at least $500 (I don't remember the exact number) available credit to qualify. I asked if there was a number I could reach him at in case we got disconnected and he gave me 888-333-3857. At this point I hung up, googled the number and found this page. I got another call (I'm assuming from the same guys because it was right away) with caller ID of 786-219-0538, which I did not pick up.

A Scam just like all the others I get. ALWAYS ASK FOR THEIR PHONE #, when they give it to you tell them you will Google them and get back to them. When recieving strange and unwarented calls always think is this too good to be true and where in the world did they get my number. I am on the NO CALL LIST. Why are you calling me? No one should be calling you unless you know them. Banks never call your home to make deals, you should get that in writing if they do.  Beware of strange and solicitating calls, if your on No Call List, they should not be calling you.
If the Scams repeat, report to the State Attorney General. It is also illigal for anyone to call you at your workplace. I have gotten calls their too, I hang up on them.

That is exactly what they said to me, word for word.  That are good......  But thank God, when they started telling me they were going to charge me $1100 for the lower interest rate, I knew it was bogus.  I told him, John Angel, that he was a creep and he should be ashamed of what he is doing.  He actually said "I am sorry" before I hung up.......

My credit card issuer confirmed that this is a scam.
When speaking to the rep from Financial Advisors Service Company, she told me the company is in Florida and that her name is Angelina Markos.  The telephone number appearing on my caller ID is 406-224-9002, which was disconnected within 30 minutes from their call.  When calling the 888# you hear music then it disconnects.

MasterCard & Visa are both Global companies. Therefore, I would say it's safe to assume legal action can be pursued against these criminals regardless of their location.  IF YOU KNOW WHO THEY ARE YOU NEED TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND REPORT THEM.

I received a call from this service. Did not give any numbers. It does however seem that someone has accessed my online account this past Tuesday night...not me.

I also got a call from them today and spoke with Richard. The background sounds like a full working call center with phones ringing and people talking in the background.  What they offered is to lower my interest rates to 6.9% and possibly lower. It varies
I asked what the company name was and he said ' Card Services Division' He gave me the pone number 888-333-3857 his ext 237.
I asked if he'd need to run a credit inquiry to lower my rate and he said no.
I asked what criteria they were using to determine whether they could lower my rate or not. He said the credit card had to have a balance of $3500, I had to pay my bill on time and the current rate had to be over 10%.  I asked other questions that he answered that made it all seem very legitimate. I don't typically fall for stuff like this, but in this case I went along with it.  Yes, I hate to admit I gave him cy CC#
He told me the Financial advisor would contact me in 15 minutes to confirm what rate they would be able to offer.
Of course the moment I hung up I felt I'd probably been scammed, so I googled the company name, which I didn't find.
Then I googled the phone number and found this page. I immediately called my credit card company and cancelled by card to have them issue a new one.
True to their word I then got the follow up call:  This time it was a woman calling from FLC Resources. I asked what FLC stood for and she said Financial Learning Center.  I asked her how she intended to lower my interest rate and she explained that what they do is work on your behalf directly with the bank to 'negotiate' a lower rate.  I asked her what their company is getting in exchange for this service, there must be some fee. She said there is no out of pocket fee. Instead after the negotiations are done and your rate is lowered they charge a 'SMALL' percentage. This rolls into your monthly charge.  So all in all, this is a scam to get some charge out of you for this service they supposedly provide. Could they actually get you a lower interst rate, who knows. I doubt it because no one can work on your behalf with the bank without you at some point giving then your SS# and many other details.  I told her it sounded like a scam and that I'd already cancelled my card before she called. She politely said she understands and to have a nice day.
My pesontal take on it: IT''S A HOAX

They just called me. I googled the number while I was talking to her, but not before I gave her my cc# and last 4 digits of my soc. Luckily I hung up on her and called my cc and reported it. She was very convincing and you could hear other people in the background (that was probably a recording, hahaha). She kept saying "If I was a scammer, how could I have your information?" But all she had was my name and number. Any idiot could get that of the internet these days. I think she kept trying to imply she also had all my banking info )as well, but that was a psyche on her part, as I was the one actually supplying it! (Isn't that was psychics do when you go for a reading? Convince you they are telling YOU when all the time you are slowly supplying THEM with all your info?)

The woman I talked to was Terry Brown. 1 (888) 333-3857 ext 231.

Oh, btw, unlike the guy who said they told him it was a "financial learning center" where they would negotiate with the bank, MY scammer told me this company WAS Visa/Mastercard. Because people's interest rates were so high, they were not using their credit cards. They wanted to get people back to using their cards. I have no idea. It sounded good at the time. Now that I think about it, if this was to occur, it would be all over the news, wouldnt it?

Lisa, I have reported other type scams to Wells fargo, thinking they would send out the big guns immediately (being that I would find message boards like this full of like scammed people.) THEY COULD CARE LESS! Pathetically its true! Possibly because there are so many scams of this type out there, they just cannot keep up with them. So self-vigilantism like this is about all we can do...
