Caller says he's from Citizens Bank and wants to talk to someone I don't know.  I called back after the second message and told them they were calling a wrong number.  He said he would remove my number, but hung up before I could ask any questions.  I got another call 3 days later.  I've also gotten several phone calls that seem to be from a autodialer.  I don't have caller id.

I have been getting 3 calls a day from this number saying it has an urgent message from Citizens Bank for (My name).  I don't have a Citizens Bank account...  I was given the option of paying my balance via credit card or I could enter my Checking Account number, or call the 888 # to speak to a rep.  I called back.  I held for about 10 minutes before an automated message told me that nobody was available and to try again later...  Very Sketchy!!!

888-333-8229 is the phone # to the collections dept for Citizens Bank. If you're getting a call from this #, it means there is probably a past-due amount on the account that needs to be addressed. If you're not paying your car bill, mortgage or home equity line of credit on time, it's why you're getting the calls. Pay your bills!!!   ...on time.

Picked up a message from my answering machine placed from automated system.  Called back this morning and was asked for a lot of personal information.  When I became suspicious and asked what this was about, they would not say.  I jung up and started researching.  The number is not on the Citizen's Bank web site so I contacted their Fraud number and confirmed that it was legit.  After 30 minutes of research, I called the Consumer Counseling department back and found that the original call to me was in error.  Great way to loose customers who do pay their bills on time.

I have asked them for their Federal Tax ID number and they refuse to give it out. I called the Secretary of State in NC. They are investigating this fraudulent company.
