My mom got an email with this as the listed number to call. She knows that I have student debt and thought I should call them. Don't forget that everyone is not as savvy as our generation or as jaded about phishing scams.

Yeah, same story here. Called them back. A representative ushered me through to a loan advisor whose job was to review my student loan balance, current financial situation, and identify any repayment programs for which I'd be eligible. Turns out because our family income is quite high (though it's only my spouse who works), I'd still be expected to pay over $600/month on a student loan balance of $43K. Not much benefit unfortunately, but it was worth checking and I appreciated all their efforts to help me.

My point: Sure, the email looks fishy, but I gave it a chance, talked to real people and honestly, it's legit.
