    For the record
I'm pretty sure U-verse is a broadband Internet and premium television service -- over TELEPHONE lines -- and has nothing to do with cable. That said, even though the guy sorta mumbled, couldn't hear me, and quickly hung up, I'm satisfied it was AT&T because last week they shifted my DSL to U-verse. It is stupid for them to not show AT&T in Caller ID. Some of their other numbers in the past week did.

    Non AT&T Customer
These AT&T morons texted me from an official AT&T texting number as well as the above number each confirming an installation day and time. I've never had AT&T before and never placed an order with them. I called them back (as well as their tech support number 888-546-1141 which was left on my voicemail) and they didn't have my phone number on file. My only reason to call them was to ensure that they didn't send a tech out - I used to be tech. AT&T has mindless customer service reps. Clueless.

Would be fine if I called AT&T for a service call, which I have not in over a year.  So I'm blocking the number.  AT&T has more than one way to contact me if they need to speak with me.  Am continuing my day with bunched panties and springs on my feet to jump over those pesky conclusions.

Received this voicemail. "Hi this is Latasha from AT&T calling to confirm your Uverse installation for tomorrow at 10:15am. Please call us back and confirm your address. If you have any questions call (different number than what called)...." I don't have AT&T nor did I call them about any service. Big, big scam here. This is not official AT&T. Be careful, people.

I have a pending U-verse installation and AT&T is almost obnoxious about how incessantly they try to make contact... Texts, phone calls, emails, to multiple contact numbers. Today it was this phone number that called my cell.

All of you need to realize that this number is legitimate, but crooks can fake their calls coming from a legit number too. If you deal with AT&T, and have a pending service issue, then don't answer the call, and call them back yourself. If you don't have U-verse then block the number.

They can't rope you into any obligations without your signature, so even if they show up for an appointment you didn't make, you have no obligation to let them do anything. (Besides it's probably a wrong number and not even your address that the installation is for...)

I had a voicemail from this number confirming AT&T installation. Knowing I had not scheduled any services with AT&T, and after googling both this number and the number they left for me to call back, I used AT&T's chat feature to have them look up any account that might be associated with my address or phone number. They found none and warned me about calling unknown numbers and giving out passcodes. I don't know if it's possible to create a fake called ID, but I think that's what happened in this case. I definitely have not signed up for any AT&T services and don't have an account. Just double check when your identity is on the line. If it seems fishy, it probably is!

The caller said they were from AT&T wanting to know if we were ready to schedule a follow up.  Had an ATT installer come out last week, but said it was too late in the day to start the conversion.

Was a legit call from AT&T - follow up from a service call the previous day. Tech was pleasant and listened to my concerns.

Just got a call from this number.  Took a chance and typed it in as a scammer.  Couldn't understand the caller, thick East Indian accent.  I had to ask him to repeat himself, as I have a home based business I get a lot of phone calls, especially from sales people trying to get me to purchase a credit card machine. The only thing I could understand was something about getting access to my computer,  I just said " you gotta be kidding" and hung up.

No clue. Called a few times, hung up with no message left. Could have been AT&T, as I've just had U-verse installed. Big surprise that it's garbage, and a major mistake on my part.

This time they left a message. WOW. Some foreign middle-eastern speaking woman saying something about a technician fixing something and I can call back for something. A load of BS.

Legit...no way.  Checking my caller ID I have had 4 calls within ten minutes from them.  We do not have Uverse and have never had an occasion to contact them.  We do have ATT.  I'm getting tired of them and all the others.  I am saving all of these numbers to report  when the new legislation passes.

NO IT ISN'T!  it's a scammer who's found a way to hack into ATT. I have Uverse; not the tech support number

Received a call from this number and I declined it - I have unlisted number that is NEVER used and this number called  through.  It can ONLY be a scam for me anyways

Received a call from this number that lasted 2 rings, some woman speaking barely comprehensible English tells me that she's confirming my AT&T order.
Totally fake, as I've never dealt with that company and never will.

A man with a thick accent said he was calling from AT&T and he was a supervisor and I should close the chat window. I wasn't on a chat with them . I hung up and blocked the number.
