- Jh| 2 repliesCalled and said they had legal paperwork to serve. Did not leave a firm name and left a reference number. Every other search I can't find the number and I wasn't given a specific person or law firm to call . Not sure if it's a phishing scam
- CWG40 replies to JhMost likely debt collector. If you call that number, the after hours robo greeter IDs them as Graham and Associates. Or something like that. I'd simply ignore and block the call.
- randali recieved a call also, no name, i talked to a person. they said i owed 1000 to walmart discover back in 08. and need to pay up now. i said number 1 i have NEVER had a walmart discover card. and im not paying nothing. then the scare tactics came. we will take money out of your social security then. i called social security they said no way can anyone can collect. so turned them into the fraud complaint. then called my bank and asked for a fraud kit. they had no clue to what i was asking for. then called the pollice and asked them for the same thing and if i can file a report, they said no such thing and if i didnt send money DONT. me thinks its fraud, and im blocking the number!

- AmberI also received a call from these people...Chapman and Associates. A guy named "Daniel" called 2 days ago and said they would deliver documents to my home today. "Daniel" called again today and said they would deliver the documents to my door in 2 days (this Friday) between 8 AM and 2 PM, and I needed to be there. 10 years ago, I had to default on a credit card when I injured my back and could no longer work. I went on SS Disability and it later turned into SS Retirement when I turned 67. I checked the statute of limitations on debt collection in my state. It's 6 years for time barred debts (https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0117-time-barred-debts) I also checked on the new regulations that protect Social Security checks...they are fully protected. Here's a link to the article... http://www.creditcards.com/credit-card-news/t ... -funds-1282.php Even though it's a relief that they cannot take my SS check, nor can the bank "freeze" it, it's still scary to think these guys are coming to my home!!!

- Uncle SAm replies to JhI received a similar call. They warned me about a pending lawsuit they are pursuing (which doesn't exist). It is undoubtedly a phishing scam.
